IKEA and LEGO partnered up and created a new line of storage products called BYGGLEK.
In this video I will be unboxing and reviewing the whole assortment.
Thank you LEGO and IKEA for sending me these.

What I and loads of other parents would love to see out of an IKEA and LEGO partnership is a play table with storage system. Where to play with and store LEGO is the challenge every parent struggles to solve and it seems to be the absolute most obvious and natural thing to come of this partnership. If done well - and let's face it, we're talking about LEGO and IKEA, so if anyone can do it well, it's going to be them - it would absolute fly off the shelves.

I picked these up on a whim, and I got a good laugh when I opened up the medium box. While the smaller boxes are preassembled, the bigger ones are packed in the most IKEA way possible, just like their furniture. It reminds me of the Adidas shoe set, and how they fully committed to the partnership, even right down to the packaging. The one annoyance is that the lids don't lock on. Even putting studs around the edges could have provided a seal, while still contributing to the play part of the series.

I always thought Ikea and Lego when they announced it, they were going to design furniture for the Lego builder/hobbyist. Like nicely designed tables, shelves, etc. to use as a dedicated building area and then clever and organized storage built within the furniture, etc.

Plastics is just a collective name for a variety of synthetic and semi-synthetic organic compounds. The plastic Lego uses is called ABS. ABS has high shape retention, toughness and impact resistance. In addition, the feel of plastic can be altered additionally with treatment afterwards and therefore plastics can definitly feel like they came from a certain manufacturer.

This is great to store LEGO parts. You can put or write the content on top. Also using your storage boxes to build an part of a big building is nice. Many possibilities. Also in large cities or installations. They can be hidden as building and serve as battery and control for lightning, controls and so on. It is a brilliant product.
@KorboTheEye

This'll definitely make bigger buildings for lego cities wayyyy easier, i mean, you can even put the contents of the buildings in the boxes, if you need to stick studs on the insides just get a custom baseplate or some little plates.

Moc makers might like these for space filler in larger mocs that double as interior. I can imagine a lot of hoth mocs using these.

Does anyone remember when the Toys R Us in Manhattan sold Lego pieces by the pound ? You could of mixed and matched from over 100 different pieces. They had different bins with different pieces in them and all you had to do was to put your hand in them and take as many pieces as you needed and put them in a plastic bag and weigh it. All the pieces were the same price per pound. It was so cool. It sure saved a lot of money and helped save the environment with a lot less packaging material thrown out.

As a parent, and when my young son and I collect, we never needed this. Just a baseplate and kept the part in a $4.00 bin from Target. He loved it. It's completely unnecessary. Nicely designed but for what it is, for a kids room, that's just for vanity of style.

ShortRound42 I completely agree I’ve stored all of mine in a couple of big plastic tubs, and they work perfectly, there’s no real need to have all of the additional stuff on the containers

It would be cool to see people coloring them to look like houses for like a stop motion video or a moc so they would use less lego and it wouldn't be broken if you took it around

At first I thought it was a bad idea, but then I realized that it is an opportunity for lego to be even more recognized.

Lego / IKEA should use Festool type boxes, that way their storage boxes could join together.
