If you ask me, Iketani is probably the most realistic character in Initial D, and not in a good way, it's just, sad tbh

iketani is literally the "wannabe". he wants to be good, but he sucks so bad because he almost never gets in any real practice and becomes a nuisance for everyone who takes racing seriously. in short, he's the casual smash player who's main is the lowest of the low tier characters and turns on all items with high spawn rates, only ever playing on stages with hazards and high walls.

He may have a turbo Nissan Silvia s13 but his drifting skills sucks, takumi drive his car and it was awesome and he fainted, maybe he just call himself the fastest driver in akina

@@penguinmaster7 he doesnt suck, he is just an average street racer for fun. Most of the other racers in initial d are trained experts who touge as a sport, whilst Iketai just has fun. In all reality Iketani could probably smoke most of us

The fact that Iketani was doing so well until he oversteered a bit and hit the rock. This could've been avoided had he changed his used tyres earlier, but nah....

Tha fact that the song used is It's my life, is just perfect it describes Iketani's life (at least his love life). His luck is not on his side at any point when he tries to get to a date or an appointment and the way the song describes that It's his life and he bleieves he should never fall in love again.

This guy is actually the luckiest guy in Initial D in terms of love life, because he's got the dream girl that accepts about, you know, EVERYTHING that he does. If that isn't luck, I don't know what is. All the other things are just small problems that hit his self-esteem. He made all his problems himself. Can't blame him though because he has Kenji as his friend (and he's a disrespecting ass), and a mom who saw Mako in Extra Stage 2 and was like "Koichiro, what are you doing, who's this girl?" (like you don't freaking guess, help your son ffs).

Poor Iketani, the most realistic character of all time, yet, he never get's to shine as the leader of Speed Stars....Damn, I wish I saw him race against Shingo and beaten his asss. Honestly, imagine Iketani had the same skill as Takumi and just won instead. He could've used Ryosuke's tactic from FC vs Evo on the corners.

it was a missed opportunity. It would be nice to see iketani and itsuki having a few standalone episodes whilst project d are in other prefectures where iketani teaches ituski about throttle control and how to better shift weight but not have him be a great teacher. Then there could be an episode where they are chilling at the top of akina when some jerks (like the ones who first laughed at the 85 until they were trounced by takumi) antagonise them in which iketani and itsuki put their practice to the test and narrowly manage to beat them. Or even an episode where they are at the gas station and work on the s13 and 85.

@@sandvicheatfresh Yeah, that's why! I am learning 3D animation so, hopefully, sometime in the future, I will remake Initial D episodes better and a little bit more realistically.

Ffs he has a s13 Silvia with a fucking turbo in it a few tweaks and more practice and he should be able to give Shingo a fair fight let alone anyone else throughout the series imagine iketani going all out in 5th stage I’d kill just to see that since he and his s13 especially don’t get enough attention at all

@@felipecruz4923I dunno what kinda FWD car you’re driving, but those things literally pull themselves forward. If it’s starting to slide too much, just lessen the steering angle and step on the gas and the rear tires snap back in line.

my theory is that if he had been slowing down and went into the curve he wouldn't hit the rock and if that happened he should have slowed down and tried to balance the car back

My biggest complaint with the later stories of Initial D (and probably the series as a whole) is that we never see drivers like Iketani, Itsuki, and Kenji getting better as the series goes on. It would have been so much cooler if MF Ghost were more of a story about Itsuki or the SpeedStars as a whole getting better as a team. Would have been so much better than focusing on the author's thinly veiled fetish, and some British kid who's already an established racing driver.

Iketani is the guy who thinks he's a good driver, so he pushes his car beyond his level of skill, and ends up wrecking. The guy is the definition of "dangerous driver."

@@aitor9158 He is correct. Dangerous drivers like him push beyond to what his skill level allows for, if you have mastery over a skill, then you may be able to gauge the risks you take and your probabilities of making it, if you dont, then, oh well, adios.

@@aitor9158 that's the difference between a driver who lets emotion controls them and those who control their emotions you find that the better drivers are those who can keep their emotions in check while driving avoiding mistakes during blind rage or depression as I've learned even the slightest mistakes can be fatal on the touges
