Understanding what Ikigai is is somewhat simple, but reflecting on yours and finding your Ikigai will definitely require a lot of reflection and self-knowledge. This is a Japanese word that means “your reason for living” and it often falls into the simplicity that some discussions around life purpose have brought us recently. As I said in the video, the reflection around Ikigai is an exclusively individual process, no matter what other people are saying about you, after all we are looking to find your reason to live and not how others want you to live.
Ikigai was discussed a lot in Japan around the book written by Ken Moki, and despite the confusion many people have around the topic, it's a super deep and important conversation. However, just because everyone is talking about life purpose and business purpose doesn't mean you should feel an individual obligation to find your Ikigai. Don't pressure yourself more than you should, after all, his goal is for you to be happy.
