Payne Haas is the danger man for NSW, and Carrigan for Queensland. Who ever gets the forwards winning the ruck will go along way to winning the game. And if the forwards follow these two players it should be a cracker of a game.

Honestly we made two selections based around form.. 1 was leaving out Gagai, who is getting older, slower, and playing in a losing side week after week. The other was leaving out Ponga for Walsh. Ponga would suit NSW at fullback because he can be eliminated by a slight brush to the head and leave us down a bloke from early in the game. I appreciate Billy's duty of care to both Ponga and the team by leaving him out. It doesn't mean he won't end up in game 2 or 3. He's in the back pocket if we need him. All the rest were injury driven. I rate QLDs approach over Freddy's dumb selections. Just cut and paste in a team from 2 years ago that won with a lot of referee help. Ignore current form. Be loyal to the point where you pick your mates Instead of making tough choices. I admire how Billy said I picked Reese, I made that choice it's on me. That's real leadership. Freddy picks his mates from the roosters and gives them everything they want, then tries to explain it away in the paper, or if he feels under pressure, he turns on the players. He's got to go both feet in with a form team for game 1 and persevere with combinations throughout the series. Stop choosing your flashy mates and ignoring form. Otherwise you'll just be losers forever. I think Freddy likes the media attention more than the hard yards as a coach. He kind of just has this glasses tone when talking about losses and has nothing to say except we weren't far away, but then he dumps players and loyalty goes out after 1 loss.😊😅😂

I was happily surprised when QLD won last years Origin series. Since the NRL Grand Final, I have had NSW penciled in as favourites for this year's series. As per usual, expecting some great moments and momentum shifts in the games. Great showcase and the winner will be Rugby League.
