Thanks! Now the next challenge is hitting from higher alt and with wind. TWC server now has realistic wind patterns depending on the altitude, will have to learn a bit of theory if I want to hit something. For single targets like ships it might be impossible, but to attack airstrips and industrial areas it might be enough.

Thanks! The bottom gunner got severely injured from the fighter (and the landing probably didn't help), but I think he survived (I didn't receive casualty notification).

Thanks! Regarding specifically the air war, I'd say that they foremost lacked the production capacity: how many planes and pilots they could churn out per day. Secondly, their doctrine was outdated by the start of the war. Too much focus on aerobatics and peacetime competitions meant that training and plane design weren't appropriate - that's how we got the cr.42, maybe the best biplane of the war, but still slow against monoplanes. This has to do with what they took from their experience in the 30s, which include the Spanish civil war. They showed that they could produce good designs though, as seen by the late macchi, fiat and reggiane designs. But they were more expensive in man-hours than the rugged German designs, and Italy didn't have such resource to spare.

Yes, they share the main characteristics. I would really like a B-25 in a modern combat flight simulator, maybe one day in IL-2 Great Battles.
