@@pippurrs Hooray me too with the migraines and photosensitivity. I've been calling myself a cave troll (not to be mistaken for a bridge troll. They're different) for half my life, I feel like, and it's so nice to finally find others of my species! I think it's at least in part due to the aforesaid cave troll lifestyle that I am an insanely, unusually pale olive (with some surface pinkness that threw me off the scent for years). I tanned easily as a kid, but now I burn almost instantly if I'm exposed to any amount of direct sunlight, it seems. I'm approximately the colour of bleached pond water. Or early zombie. Translucent oatmeal? Petrified celery? Some combination of the above. Which sort of adds to the whole cave troll thing, frankly. So. That's great for me.

I have textured skin and scars and the IT cc cream works so great at covering. I will also use the Maybelline master concealer if I need extra coverage on certain spots. They both have high coverage and don't need a lot of product at all, and it conceals my texture a lot, especially once I add a little bit of powder to matting my face it doesn't enhance texture or feel dry. I use either the airspun translucent or the Anastasia banana powder.

Story time: fuck Il Makiage So... friend convinced me to get a free makeover at Il Makiage's in-person popup in NYC. I was excited and went. I had planned on buying something out of courtesy. The lady starts out by pretty much shit-talking the foundation I use (mind you, I went *tptally foundationless* that day *because* I knew I was getting my makeup done, only spot-concealing some acne spots). The lady tries to tell me how high quality their stuff is and blahblahblah. I genuinely did like one eyeshadow and the bronzer. I was going to buy those things. So the makeover is done, it comes out ok I guess, and she starts scanning everything she put on my face. I thought it was for inventory or bookkeeping reasons or whatever. Then she tells me it'll be *OVER THREE HUNDRED DOLLARS.* I'm like... Dude what? I didn't ask for any of this. But the lady kept pushing me to buy the foundation and brushes, which were like 60 bucks each. No prices were listed btw. Which is very illegal in NYC. I told her I couldnt spend that much, I'm unemployed, that's probably more than I spend on makeup in a year. She wasnt backing down. So I panicked, blurted out "IM PREGNANT AND MY WATER JUST BROKE GOTTA GO BYE" and darted out since I'm rather apple-shaped and that was the first "out" that came to mind! Lady would have made a solid $50 in sales if she didnt push me, btw. But noooo, she tried to force me into buying $300 of junk I dodn't want or need. Fuck them and their shady shit.

So, I work im the skincare formulations/manufacturing industry and I wanted to quickly comment on hyauronic acid in products. It is EXTREMELY common to see actives used for label boosting (just for marketing purposes) as Sam mentioned, which is a sad reality of the cosmetics industry. However, when it comes to a humectant ingredient like hyaluronic acid it can actually have the opposite of its intended effect of drawing moisture into the skin and keeping it there, if it is not formulated correctly. Generally for hyularonic acid to be most effective, you really need to apply an occlusive ingredient along with it or over it. This is especially true when using humectants in a dry environment with low humidity where they can actually start pulling moisture out of your skin. Taking a quick look at the ingredients, even though this foundation contains a fair bit of occlusive silicone it also contains a lot of solvent ingredients which can be quite drying, as well as quite a few powder based texturizing ingredients that would be great for contriling oil but will increase the dryness factor on the skin. I personally would not recommend a foundation containing two types of drying alcohols, especially not for dry skin. It also contains a known irritant ingredient pretty high up in the ingredient list.

HOWEVER, I also tried the foundation they sell in the tube, which I really like and turned out to be a favorite! I also got the wrong shade based on the quiz, but then when I went thru the process of getting the correct shade, (which was free) they had me send natural light photos of myself and they chose a shade based on that, which turned out to be a perfect match. (I don't have dry skin though, more combo). But weirdly the foundation in the tube has way more coverage, and you need to use way less of it, than the one in glass. ❤

This foundation broke me out so bad when I was working so hard on my clearing my skin beforehand that I sent that shit back as fast as I could.

Girl me too! I wore it for 3 days before I realized what was happening and it took a couple of weeks to clear up the pimple mess they made of my face 😂

Thank you for taking one for the team...I will avoid like the plague as my crusty ass face doesn't need to look drier then it already does! I hope you eye sensitivity goes soon for you, I get it around my migraines & it hurts!

The cream foundation from Suqqu is gloriously luminous, divine and worth every bit of that hefty pricetag 👌🏼🙌🏼

I keep getting these ads too and have been dying for a video like this. Thank you for delivering!! And I think it’s great that you give a REALISTIC view of the foundation. A lot of us have textured or red skin (etc). Thank you 😊

I know this is an older video, but it’s hilarious because this foundation is the first that has *not* made me break out, made my face feel insanely dry and crusty, or looked like shit, and it actually lasted all day and definitely didn’t smell compared to any other foundation I’ve ever tried. And the foundations I’ve tried are from the cheap to expensive, so it’s not like I’ve only ever had dollar store products 🤣 Just funny and crazy how skin varies so much.

I have really light sensitive eyes too and anytime anyone shows the lighting they sit in front of I say a little prayer for their eyeballs.

I ordered one of their cream blushes and it was awful! It came in a little glass jar and had such a tiny amount of product, it reminded me of a sample you might get at a makeup counter.

As a revert Muslim you stand by some things I believe in too. You’re such a cool person. You’re so real and stand up for what is truly right. You stand out girl. I really mean this from the bottom of my heart. I stayed subscribed to you. I actually am a revert to Islam. I didn’t grow into the religion but anyway long story short I went on a unfollowing rampage to trash all the junk on KZfaq and Ig. You stayed because your character and conduct is so high you are genuine and sincere. You deserve to flourish and May God increase you mentally, physically, spiritually, and financially. Ameen (Ps regarding the foundation) I bought this too and I’m not into a lot of things! I bought it and asked for my money back so luckily they did refund me but it was so thick and I use very little foundation. I didn’t like it.

Medina, Being unfamiliar with anything Muslim or Islam, I went on a search for information. My reason for doing this was your comment to the OP where you said, “your character and conduct is so high.” Also, your first sentence implies the OP is a revert Muslim and you state you are as well, if I understood you correctly, which was another reason for seeking information. The article I discovered was titled, “Law of Saying Bad Swear in Islam According to Quran and Hadith.” It also stated there are “certain rules and law created to protect the purity of Muslims.” It goes on to say, “Every moral filth is prohibited, including saying bad swear and using foul language.” Also, I must admit that I stopped watching this video at 14:02, so I have no idea what followed. More of the same I would expect. Perhaps it’s already clear what I’m about to say, however, in those mere 14 minutes, the OP swore (fucking) 26 times. (Yes, I actually took the time to count, lol). Please don’t get me wrong, I’m no prude and I’m not offended at all. I can swear the likes a trucker at times myself. So, I’d like to ask you this. If you and the OP are revert Muslims who follow the rules and law protecting the purity of Muslims, how is it you can give the OP a compliment that her character and conduct is so high? I realize this comment is unrelated to the video. However, it is in response to your comment. Would you be so kind as to help me understand? Thank you.

@Dakota P in short: the same as any other religion. Christianity, agnostic, atheist,- whatever. If you're a good person you're a good person. No one if PERFECT in any religion. She wasn't inferring anything about her being Muslim either. She was talking about unfollowing people due to today's standards and she's not comfortable with their lifestyle therfore she removed herself from that situation. 🤷♀️ whatever the case is.... spread love and kindness friend. 💜 it doesn't matter what color or religion we are as long as we spread positivity.

I purchased this foundation a year ago after seeing Mel Thompson use it, and I too couldn’t understand the hype. It’s THICK AF, and no matter what, it looks cakey. And it oxidized slightly on me which I did not appreciate. Also, yes, in addition to drying out my skin, it sucked out my will to live. I could have saved myself some postage and found some flesh toned putty to smear on my face because that was about the same effect I got with the foundation. Not to mention it picks up and emphasizes every single line on the face 😖😡🤬

I never thought about using your glolust in darker shade as bronzer. But that just brought that dry foundation to life! Good to know! Thanks girl.

I took the quiz and it annoyed me because it asked what skin type I have and what finish i want, but then it turned out they only had one foundation anyway. Why ask if you’re just gonna offer full coverage matte?

Vampire vibes, I dig it! I need to watch more of your videos Sam. Your personality is contagious to me lol. I feel after binge watching foundation videos you should try the NEW NARS light reflecting foundation with skincare in it and the new Charlotte Tilbury foundation because I heard even after powdering it down it glows through anything even after 4 sets of powder lol. Could work for you… idk also this IL M foundation might work better if you really cared it on

Thank you for reviewing this! They got me with the ads too so I filled out the match quiz and now I get emails all the time! I am so allergic to scent so I was hesitant but everyone said it wasn’t that strong. I’m so glad that I didn’t buy because your reaction to the smell was the answer I needed. Also the dryness. I don’t even wear foundation and I was going to buy it lol the marketing budget is unimaginable.

Damn, the fact that this makes you feel old is awful, I don’t want a reality check when I put on my foundation! I want to feel delusional about my age and skin because the makeup looks that freaking flawless 😂🤩! I’m a sexy chick not a sad old hag 😩, just throw the whole company away!

I had such a love-hate relationship with this foundation at first (now I don't like it), the shade match was good until it heavily oxidized & it also felt so heavy! Also the return policy has so many loopholes.... needless to say I got screwed on that.

Yes I agree! This one oxidized and ends up looking darker than the initial match

Smell aside, texture aside, I felt like the first part when you applied could have been part of the ad. It's definitely a good match. Maybe not a great foundation for you, but a good match.
