I had a pastor who stood in front of the congregation and said, he and other pastors would not preach about SIN because it offends people. He would tell you to say the sinners prayer but would not talk about HELL. We are being deceived by these new modern day pastors. READ YOUR BIBLE IF YOU'RE A BELIEVER.

Repeat the prayer and then you are saved! That's why we have many "christians" in America living in the world because a pastor made them believe that they are saved and they keep living in sin! This is not about being a Calvanist! Churches are more worry about the fancy chairs, the good coffee and donuts than actually preach the gospel and keep the church members in communion with God and have their convictions in the right place!

Calvinists make it seem like its hard to be saved and receive from Christ. They won't accept you're saved until you've checked off all the lists of things to do. You pass from death to life in a moment through placing faith in His name.

Of the 95 percent profesing believers in the church who are unsaved, as these men say, how does one know if they are one of them, and then if one feels they may be one of them what must they do to get saved??

For salvation, we must follow the way they did it in Acts. They repented, were baptized in water in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and received the gift of the Holy Ghost, Acts 2:38! Here's why! The gospel is the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians 15:1-4. If we are to follow him, we must do the same thing. Death= repentance, Burial = baptism, and resurrection = being filled and rising again from the dead and walking in the newness of life. That's what Acts 2:38 is. We can't pick and choose which scriptures we like or dislike. We must obey the gospel, 2 Thessalonians 1:8-9, in flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that OBEY NOT THE GOSPEL of our Lord Jesus Christ... Matthew 7:21-23, Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that DOTH THE WILL OF MY FATHER which is in Heaven. St John 3:3-5, EXCEPT for a man be born of WATER AND OF THE SPIRIT, he cannot enter the kingdom of GOD. Jesus Christ does love us and died for us, and he wants us to obey him. We can't come up with our own gospel. Galatians 1:8-9, But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. Don't be cursed. One way for all people. Jews, Gentiles, and Samaritans. Our salvation must match the scriptures, and no scriptures on the subject can be taken away. Eternity is TOO long to be WRONG! The gospels show what Christ has done on the cross for us. The book of Acts shows us the beginning of Christ's Church and how to enter the Church, obeying Acts 2:38. The letters were written to the Church to show us how to behave now that we are born again into the Church. It's better to walk alone than with a crowd going in the wrong direction. Are we supposed to follow the teachings of the apostles? Acts 2:42, And they continued steadfastly in the apostle's doctrines. Ephesians 2:20, We are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ being the chief cornerstone. Don't get Titus 3:5 mixed up with James 2:14-26, about WORKS. One is a WORK of your OWN RIGHTEOUSNESS OR GOOD DEEDS, and the other is a WORK OF FAITH or OBEDIENCE TO GOD. Noah believed or had FAITH, BUT THEN WORKED OR OBEYED TO BUILD THE ARK TO BE SAVED. LOT believed or had FAITH, BUT THEN OBEYED AND LEFT SODOM. This is why Jesus said, that He who believes and is baptized shall be saved. We must believe and obey Acts 2:38. All scriptures have to harmonize together. 1 Corinthians 14,33, For God, is not the author of Confusion, so it wasn't him that brought all these different religions down here that brings confusion.

Salvation is by grace through faith not of works. When someone repent they turn away from self and towards God and it is Jesus his blood is power that cleans up our life. So many people today believe that repentance means you’re gonna change your life and say no more and if that is your approach you’re trusting in your own righteousness and not the righteousness of God. The gospel starts with Jesus and ends with Jesus we are to receive by faith by trusting in him by believing in him. Our behavior is not our Savior. I do not believe in anyone can send and send it down and it does not mean anything sin breaks the insurance and close this one would want with God. Yet I will always state that salvation is by faith and faith alone and works comes after one has faith but those works are works of God that he allows us to do that he gives us the right to do it is not for our own glory or efficacy.

There is so much deception in the religious world today just as Jesus and the apostles foretold there would be in the last days. Jesus did NOT die under the wrath of his Father!!! That's NOT the gospel either!!! The gospel is not properly understood by any church organization in the entire world. For centuries the gospel has not been properly proclaimed, by anyone, nor even by the most zealous and beautiful followers of Jesus Christ, who were not responsible for not being able to proclaim the message of the cross perfectly, because that the entire church has been exposed to sorcerers and false teachers and false preachers for centuries. To begin with, the preaching of the gospel is not about saving anyone from hell. If anyone deserves hell, they should go there and not be saved from it. The preaching of the gospel is about bringing the kingdom of Christ on earth, telling people to repent and to believe on Christ. If people are unwilling to have Christ reign over them, then they are worthy of death and hell. This is just my first thought to share. @LoveGrownCold My entire point (and the scriptures point) with this encounter was that when Peter foolishly blurted out that he wished to honor all 3 as equals God showed all of them so there was no misunderstanding where all the glory and all the honor should go... it should go to Jesus Christ alone. Do you pray to your messengers? Do you ask your messengers angels, dead saints or Mary to intercede for you?

@RONIDC1979 thank you. this is my point exactly. how can they say that someone is not saved if this is something that the individual would only know. what I mean to say is that I know there is direction for salvation in the bible but no one ever seems to want to define it biblically except Apostolics who say salvation is found in Acts 2:38, which makes sense to me.

@nld1960 that's a good question...in the scripture I referenced before Acts 2:38 after Peter preached and they people there asked "What shall we do?" His instruction was to 1) repent and 2) be baptized in the name of Jesus...also in Mark 16:15, 16 Jesus instructed them to preach the gospel to the world and then he said: He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned...so it MUST be a necessary part of salvation...what do u think?

For example I had never heard of any of the other 4 that were there except of Paul Washer and I also like Francis Chan, John Piper and many more who you know that their hearts just want to please the Lord and they speak the truth. Add to that their burning of men a the stake for teaching the true gospel. "You have held that faith alone justifies", and one cannot say that they are christian.

@nld1960 Well I disagree that he told them HOW in that verse. I see that he only told them that they would (future tense) be saved after calling upon the name of the Lord. As in once I buy groceries I will eat tonight. Now, obviously we can deduce that he surely didn't mean just by them calling the Lord's name would secure their eternal salvation. And if that were the case why did Peter follow by saying what he said in Acts 2:38? Was he lying in verse 21?

I just pointed out that the scripture recorded baptisms by those that believed and expressly stated for us to be baptized throughout scripture. Us Reformed are not saying that no one within what has been called the Roman Catholic Church has ever been saved, of course we're not saying that, but what we are saying is that as Rome grew up, it swerved from the truth, and what has been called the Roman Catholic Church has been a primarily non-christian institution.

What do we know? We know what was told us on t.v., videos, pastors, friends, etc. Where is the truth? In church? No. In the Scriptures! You may be fortunate and have a good pastor who speaks truthfully from Scripture. Even so, our walk with Christ Jesus is more than 1 day a week. If we can't find time to spend with our Savior and read His truth, we are in a dangerous place. Come out of the world and away from the distractions of the fleshly life. I pray this for all of us.

@nld1960 I NEVER said that baptism justifies us. I simply stated what the scriptures said. Jesus justified us. That same Jesus who himself found it necessary to be baptized also instructed believers to be baptized. Mark 16:15,16. Is that true or not? Holy communion doesn't save us either but Jesus instructed believers to do this until he returns. Did he or did he not? So pls understand salvation is totally by faith in Christ. He is our Saviour alone. He is also our Lord and we are to obey him.

@LoveGrownCold Sir, PW is ANYTHING but ignorant of Roman Catholicism. I think you need to do some studies on church history first. For close to 1000 years Rome persecuted and killed every group of people they could find who had the scriptures and stood separate from Rome. God always has His people. Think about when Elijah pleaded to God against Israel and he thought he was all alone. There are many examples of the same kind of thing happening between 650AD and 1500AD.

@LoveGrownCold Idolatry is the worship of false gods and images. So I tell you what, If you can tell me how it is that prayer is not an act of worship and therefore prayer offered up to Mary and other dead people before their supposed images is not idolatry then I'll stop believing Papists are idolatrous heathen. Remember, Prayer = Worship, Worship of images = idolatry, idolatry of dead people = necromancy.

@LoveGrownCold I have to weigh in on this one! That's all the Catholic religion is, is idols. Statues of Mary and the rest of the so called saints! The Pope is an idol! Your rapacious prayers are idolatry!...I tuned into the Catholic channel and this older gal said "hail Mary full of grace" for a half an hour, with a bunch of nuns! You obviously do not know the Word of God. Anybody that DOES know the Word of God Knows the RC church is perverted corrupted & does not follow Scripture. I was a RC for years. My husband was raised in Quebec was an RC since birth. We were shocked when we were again 25 yrs ago to realize the RC church did not preach the Gospel.
