Repeat A Shape Along A Path with Illustrator

One of Adobe Illustrator’s many useful features includes having the ability to create pattern brushes. Pattern brushes allow you to repeat a shape along a path with Illustrator, but there’s a few things you need to be mindful of first, which I’ll be covering in this lesson.

Thank you for this tutorial! Would this be the same method for making a repeat border print? I've watched several tutorials on making a repeat pattern for fabric, but there is only one tutorial on KZfaq regarding designing a repeat pattern for border print fabric, but very difficult to understand. The designer refers to "symbols" and the videos I've seen about a designing a repeat pattern refer to "swatches," which I understand.

When adding the pattern, go to where it says "Method:" Select 'Tints and Shades'. Try that
