Была реальная необходимость закрашивать такой шикарный центр? 😭 Мне кажется - это вандализм.

В центре стола была такая красота, боже, я не поверила глазам,что вы это закрашиваете, даже пересмотрела, зря конечно, столик жалко :(

If you had asked this table what it wanted to be, like Louis Kahn famously asked the brick, a Mayan calendar probably would not have been the first words out of its mouth. You did a good job and the technology is interesting, but in my opinion a straightforward restoration would have been a better result.

The end result is nice but when I saw the center I thought it was so gorgeous and then it was painted and I was like OH NO😳

When that tabletop was revealed, I thought “wow! He must be so thrilled to uncover that”….and then you painted it. 😢

You are very skilled, but this was really hard to watch. Once I saw the top during the cleaning, I was awed by the beautiful grain. In one of the comments, you said you used plaster in the coating. Maybe in a future video you can show how to reverse.

You covered the most beautiful wood grain on the whole table with paint and laser etched a Mayan calendar into it. Interesting experiment, wrong place for it.

So much work went into this piece, bravo on that, but I could never have painted over that beautiful top once it was revealed.

Стол в стиле барокко украшать календарем майя? Разные эпохи и совсем разные стили.

Дизайн совершенно неудачный. Можно было из этого стола сделать шедевр, а получилось полное недорозумение. Белый цвет вообще не в тему. И рисунок жуткий в центре. Хотя в центре была изумительная текстура дерева. Если бы ее выделили, все сделали под маслом, стол был бы великолепен. Дизлайк!

i didnot beleive you did what you did to the top of the table, it was extremely beautiful, in all the years i have been in restoration, never see a top like that. and you just painted in a very ugly yello and ..... no words

It had a lot of insect damage that would have made restoration very difficult. But, I was enchanted by the wood grain and completely disappointed to see it painted over. Personally, I would have preferred an incomplete restoration with defects over a pretty finish covering the natural wood.

I do like the idea, and having grown up in SoCal, I still have an Aztec calendar on my wall in NZ. Just not sure that was the right table top to do it on. Hopefully the paint has protected the lovely veneer underneath and it can be saved, and you could do this technique on something that would benefit from it more.

I clicked on this for a restoration. The veneer was so unique. I’m Mexican. While I found it interesting that you decided to use the laser to etch the Aztec calendar on a table, I think it would’ve been better on something that had no other remedy. Maybe a more modern table. But that’s just my opinion. You might want to correct your title though. 😬

That’s such a beautiful little table even before you start your work. Just being sanded down & in the natural it’ll be gorgeous. It was such a good pick. Now sanded I was exactly right! OMGosh! Imagine what you’re going to be able to sell THAT for! Oh no… I’m thinking you’re going to paint her. You put that beige paint on her. Then ahhh… you put that demonic print on top of her!

Excellent work considering the worm infestation, but as others have said should of left the veneer clear...but who hasn't messed up in hindsight

I usually love your work...I didn't like covering that wonderful wood with a difficult to recognize laser etching of a mediocre calendar. Sorry.. Your projects are always magnificent.

i can definitely see how your design would appeal to more modern tastes...taking a piece of furniture that was in disrepair and well past its prime...and turning it into a modern, fresh piece is an art...furniture is meant to be used...i can see that this piece has a chance to be used and not thrown away...so bravo 👏🏻

Your work was excellent, as always. Though the end result was not to my taste, I appreciate that you were experimenting and trying something new and different. Since so many of us really like the carvings on the table-base and the stunning wood grain on the tabletop, perhaps you could do a sequel video to this one. It is alright to decide that something experimental did not go fully the way you thought it would. You could remove the paint from the base and bring out the carvings with stain/clear finish. Then you could remove the paint from the top, fill the cracks, and clear coat the wonderful inlay. Looking forward to the next video.

Автор видео имеет много химии и средств для обработки дерева и безусловно умеет с ними работать. После шпатлёвки фигурных ножек какой резон был их красить? Я не эксперт в ремонте деревянных изделий и возможно идея окрашивания столешницы принадлежала хозяину вещи, но лично мне она кажется неудачной. Теперь что касается монтажа видео. Что не понравилось: Очень много времени посвящено распаковыванию лазерного гравёра. Считаю это лишним. С другой стороны вообще не показан момент крепления столешницы в оси, она банально приклеена? Посажена на штифты? Не то что бы претензия к звуку, но на 14:57 звук работы распилочного станка присутствует некоторое время, когда видеоряд уже демонстрирует нам другую картинку... Понравилось же то, что автор демонстрирует название материалов, которые используются в ролике перед камерой.

I usually like your work, but you ruined fantastic tabletop, it was so interesting and unique, but you just wanted to show off you laser machine.

If he put a new design on the table's top I would call that more than a restoration. It's more like restoration and redesigning.
