you could increase the efficiency by tossing the item on the pressure plate when the player is sent off, so it would start counting the 5 minutes of delay between breeding for the first panda and then all the others, while the setup you have build starts counting the 5 minutes after the last panda. this way you would earn the loop time every 5 minutes, increasing the efficiency by (loop time(in minutes)/5)%

genuinely kinda surprised the breeding delay wasn't implemented by having 5 minutes worth of pandas on a circuit that never has the bamboo player stop

Hey mango, I had an idea, and it works (at least partially). You could make a cobweb column, through which the minecarts with pandas will fall. Each cobweb adds ~25s, so you would need only ~48 blocks to get 20 minutes. Then at the corner block of cobweb column, make water column with switchable soulsand and magma (connected to some clock and pulse extender), and put an AFK player there, so he collects all slimeballs that drop into cobweb. Unfortunately it has smaller cart capacity than your spiral of death, but maybe you could have 4 cobweb columns on each corner of water column. Just an idea, maybe you could test it more in creative.

How long does it take an item to get down the spiral? If it takes more than 5 minutes won’t you have like 75%losses?

WOW the fact that you can use item despawning as a 5 minute clock is AWESOME haha 3:24 that baby "processing plant" assembly line looking thing is NUTS I love seeing systems that totally recycle their services. like the minecarts the pandas are carried in are then sent back up around a loop. also the bamboo farm automatically feeding the player.. so cool damn in peaceful mode, the wandering trader actually has a use now. he trades slime balls and gunpowder occasionally.

When you see the farm you may think "Wow, what a large and complex farm, it must produce at least a decent amount of slime" ilmango: 30 slime balls an hour, take it or leave it.
