Making A Gravel Proof Wither Tunnel Bore

Running a wither tunnel bore low in the nether has the advantage that you can get more ancient debris, but the machine needs to be able to deal with gravel. In this video I add a system to the tunnel bore that should be able to deal with it.
Machine only works on easy difficulty because of the wither behaviour.

An idea would be to stack the wither tunnel bore until y 21 where there is no more gravel, so everytime it went forward, it would destroy the gravel above like normal blocks So like 5 tunnel bores stacked on top of eachother. Yes you would have a bigger tunnel bore but why not?

Meet Gravel, the Ultimate Minecraft Boss. It's said that the dragon created another dimension just to live in a gravel-free world. Elder guardians built their monuments in the oceans' depths to be safe where gravel can't reach them. The warden became blind after seeing a hundred blocks long strip of floating gravel. The wither... It fears no block, but gravel is its worst enemy; this machine proves it: no matter how strong a wither could be, the devastating power of a few gravel blocks would still obliterate it

If we assume that each block in layer L has a uniform probability of P(L) of spawning ancient debris, then the average debris production rate for mining one layer forward is W blocks wide is W*P(L). A bore that begins at layer L and goes down H layers will average W*(P(L) + P(L - 1) + P(L - 2) + ... + P(L - H)) ancient debris per block moved forward. If the moving-forward rate is R then the average debris rate D will be D = R*W*(P(L) + P(L - 1) + P(L - 2) + ... + P(L - H)) If new D is lower than the old D, the rate is lower. (Assuming I did the math right). Annoyingly, I can't actually find any of the numbers needed to work this out. The graph on the ancient debris wiki page makes me decently sure that the rate will be quite a bit higher, though.

nah if the gravel is at the level of the wither i think the wither would just destroy it right? the area the 4 withers destroy (the drill) is a continuous area. If theres gravel there the withers break it before it has a chance to fall so no gravel in line with the withers should fall

Concerning the iron trapdoor: In my experience, if you power the trapdoor and then push it with a piston, it will remain in the open position without having to be powered. If there is literally any reason or preference for the iron trapdoor, give this a shot?
