Here's the end of my Counter-Strike 1.0 series. Overall, it was a really quick series. Not a lot of stuff in it was different when compared to Beta 7.0.
Version 1.0 adds the Five Seven, UMP and SG 500, which are the last weapons added before 1.6 came out and included the Galil and FAMAS. I think I may stop doing the gun video series earlier than the level videos because it doesn't seem like that, at this point, there are a lot differences between the 1.0 and 1.6's guns. Depends, though.

I remember being out running late at night, just imaging how awesome the UMP and the SG550 were going to be. I had thought they were going to be added with the Elites in 7, but they ended up being added shortly after with 1. Boy was I disappointed the first time I used them.

because the AWP has front sight modelled. so technically the sniper has crosshair, but i get it, it's not fair but I swear it was fun noscoping with crosshair back then :)

But it's actually very realistic! And judging from this video it seems to be less transparent than in 1.6. If I remember correctly it was more transparent in 1.6 than in previous versions. But when you selected "low quality" on smoke there was just blocks of painted cartoon smoke clouds which looked ridiculous. That was not an option on 1.6 anymore...

The only difference in CS:S weapons and CS 1.0 or CS 1.6 is the change in graphics, and change in models. CS:S has higher poly models with less clipping and scaling issues than CS 1.0 or CS 1.6. I don't see how you would dislike the animations as they are mostly the same (Exception M249 which makes sense in CS:S). But hey, if you really like the hands clipping through the camera every so often, I don't mind.

I remember the first verions of this game, i found it in a PC mag on a demo CD. i did not now what it was, but it became instant sucsess. I was 15years old in 1999, had been going to LAN parties for a couple years, duke3d, doom and quake etc, but when this came it was nr1 game to play. i remember you could earn unlimited money and the weapons dropped never dissapered and they where in some boxes so you never knew what you picked up and the map got full of them. good times, thx for video

Jel Vis they replaced mp5 and tmp with mp9 and mp7 but i dont remember which with which and they removed the mac10 too or replaced it with another weapon but i dont remember

I find CS1.5 and below arms to be weird looking, the gloves look too plastic like and shiny and the arms look fugly with that weird yellow look. It's also inconsistent with the knife and FiveSeveN having different arms than all the other pistols. The 1.6 ones look a little more pale and the gloves don't look shiny. (I also prefer how the knives are held in 1.6)

The ones in CS:GO are accurate. The ones here make use of the slide release. If you meant detail of pistols, then yes, CS:GO is lacking, especially when empty.

+Aaron Goh In CS:GO you pull the slide back from normal position, which would never happened after firing a pistol, that's when you have emptied your gun for storage or later use, and then want to make it ready for firing again :)

i know but, by that time, it was awesome and "almost" didnt have collision probs, nowadays, almost all VALVe games have those probles with the animations, i suggest you take a look at the Killing Floor 2 weapon animations in Slow-Mo, it doesen't have any collision problems, litterally, you dont see a hand going inside anything.

The AUG and SG were definitely in 1.0 since they were in the earlier betas. I remember buying the SG when I first got CS (beta 6.5 in the summer of 2000) and admiring the view model. It looked amazing at the time.
