I think that's his charisma, his energy not ego. I know he is nothing in comparison with the elites but maybe what he does is what keeps him going and keeps him making progress. you think he doesn't know where he stands in terms of world weightlifters? he knows. but I admire him fighting time and trying to catch up even though he started really late.

If I did weightlifting for only 6 years after being addicted to alcohol and crystal meth and could snatch 366 pounds, I would lose my shit. world weightlifting or no, the guy can lift. wouldn't matter to me if I was first in the world, or 200th in the sinclair... I would slam bars and yell too.

who cares how long you train for. the only stat that matters is the weight u lift. thats like playin football against someone and losing but saying they only won cos they train harder than you do. thats YOUR PROBLEM. hence why there isnt a category for "weightlifters who only trained for 5 years or less" at the olympics.
