ILYUSHIN IL76 NOSE DOWN Approach with LANDING - 20 Minutes IL76 Only (4K)

10 ай бұрынThis Ilyushin IL76 of Silk Way is currently flying to Leipzig in germany on a regular basis. The azerbaijan airline operates cargo charter flights between Africa and germany. The IL76 has a characteristic nose-down approach which clearly can be seen in this video. The aircraft arrived on runway 08R and I filmed it from the visitor terace which is quite amazing at Leipzig. About two hours later the Ilyushin departed again to Africa.
I also included a few other Ilyushins I have filmed within the last years including a few IL76` s at Eindhoven Airport. Sometimes they operate cargo charter flights for the dutch government.

Great size comparison between the IL76 and the B747 and AN-124s. Wow! Loved all the Il76s.

I believe within ex-USSR pilots it's called "Afgan landing", as this approach style was used during Soviet invasion in Afganistan and this was to make landing (descend in final) as quick as possible to avoid being shot.
