Had same problem with mine chambered in 7prc. Borescoped it, and sure enough, the crown was all jacked up, machining marks all over edges. Sent it back, they recrowned it and now with hand loads it shoots about 0.4-0.7 groups. I'm probably still going to rebarrel it down the road, but at least it will work for now.

you should read the guarantee a bit better. pulled the below straight from their website. it only has to be sub moa on 2 stings and they base it off the best one of those 2. Centerfires: “Passing” standard for centerfire shot groups is SUB-MOA at 100 yards with match grade ammo (A total of (3) 3-shot groups) . Gun will be boresighted, zeroed, then allowed to cool. Gunsmith will fire up to (3), 3-shot groups, each from a cold bore.  Supported by a front and rear bag only (no lead sled, no fixtures) using ONE of OUR recommended loads. If the first 2 groups fired pass, the gun passes. If neither do, the gun fails.  If only one passes, a third group will be shot.  If 2/3 groups are sub MOA, the gun passes.  The best target will be labeled and sent to the customer if it passes.

I have 2 of these in left hand, My 22 HMR holds 5 shots into MOA at 100 meters with SK long range all day long, And my 308 HMR holds .75 MOA or better with factory loaded with 168gr Sierra Matchking HPBT. The only thing I have changed is MDT ORYX Chassis and a Triggertech Diamond for both of them, Accu-Tac WB-4 Picatinny Quick Release Bipod and Nightforce ATACR 4-20×50 for the 22 and a Nightforce ATACR 5-25×56 for the 308

I have the same gun. It seemed to tighten up the more I shot it. I tried Fed. Match grade 140gr. I was at 3 MOA. The RSO just looked at me, so I told him to shoot it. Not much better than me. Tried some Sig marksman 140 gr and was 1 MOA. Started hitting 4” plates at 600 consistently. Now starting reloading.

My B14 HMR chambered in 6.5 PRC will keep 0.5-0.75 5 shot groups no problem. This is with custom ammo using either Peterson or Norma brass and 147 ELD-M's. Using Berger VLD's the rifle does not seem to like those.

i got a cva cascade in 30-06 about 2 1/2 months ago. Same as the bergara 30-06 barrels. Took a while but eventually i found a few loads that were constantly under 1". Lots of small factors too such as shooting setup. Good video, keep em coming!

@@GHOSTGARAGE7 I think the rifle is definitely more capable. I'm thinking the bergara barrels are just a bit picky. Then again, having a factory rifle that shoots great is like winning the lottery.

I put a Chassis and a muzzle brake on mine and it shoots .275 @ 100 and 1.1 at 600 yards. I’ve got a video uploaded on it. To be honest overall I’m impressed with its accuracy! Could’ve spent 4K plus on an aftermarket action for the same result

Man I have exactly the same rifle. Mine was exactly like yours. 1.2-1.5 moa and them i took it as a plinker ans wanted to sell it afterwards. But then I shot 200 rounds through it. And ohhhh boy is it a shooter now. Its sub half MOA now. Dont give up just plink a bit at long range until you have some rounds down the tube. I shoot exact the same load still and it wouldnt group with thoae loads.

@@davidwarren3433 Yes, and I have a BMP. But if you're trying to tighten groups, (depending on your use case) their mass produced barrel is the first to go. If you're satisfied with 1MOA or greater especially as the barrel heats up, keep it. Otherwise get a quality barrel on there spun up by any one of several excellent shops.

I have the same rifle and have the same issues. I tried 4 types of rounds and only one round noticeably grouped better than the rest. Unfortunately, that grouping was still pretty loose for 100yds (over 1"). With my Tikka I am able to get sub-MOA all day, so I'm thinking the accuracy issue is the Bergara rifle. Next step is to continue to break in the barrel and to sand the paint off the inner stock and I hope that improves the grouping a little. You'd think that as much as these rifles cost, there wouldn't be so many lemons out there. (and there are a lot if you look at the amount of articles/you tube videos on the topic) Best of luck to you!

@@GHOSTGARAGE7 I removed the paint, torqued the setting screws, removed the scope completely and retorqued all of those screws as well. Went back out to the range once all that was complete, shot about 20 cheap rounds through the barrel to finish "breaking in" the barrel and once I started shooting quality ammo, I was shooting cloverleafs with 3 of the 6 bullets selected. Looks like my problem has been solved as well. It's just seems a little crazy that you spend that much on a rifle and have to do so much to get it to perform. Oh well...all is good again...happy shooting!

I’m confused. Before the Hornady podcast you weren’t upset. Then you listen to the podcast and suddenly expect your rifle to shoot 5+ shot groups into sub moa groups? Bergara states that their accuracy guarantee is for 3 shot groups. And if you listen to the information in that podcast, as well as others, they tell you that 1.2-1.5 moa is what most hunting and competition type rifles will shoot for 30+shot groups. After about 10 shots, MOST of the rest of the shots will land within the first 10. So it sounds to me like the rifle is producing exactly what it should for real world expectations

You are correct, it’s been a while since I made this video and listened to the pod, since then I’ve done a few things to theoretically improve my accuracy out of the rifle and have seen and ‘felt’ better groups out of the rifle since then, but this video I will say is more of an emotional approach as a consumer in the current market, and really just blowing off some steam when what I thought I was buying wasn’t as good as I expected. Still love the rifle and have had great results after this video, I’ll start working of a follow up video.

I get it. I just traded in a $2,800 Christensen because it wouldn’t shoot anywhere near a 1 moa group. Didn’t even mess with their warranty and just replaced it with a Bergara Wilderness HMR Carbon and I’m currently doing load dev. It’s already looking far more promising than the Christensen. I just wanted to call out what I thought was an emotional response as you admitted. A follow up would be nice to see how things have settled in

Factually incorrect. With Hornady Precision Hunter, the ballistics are almost identical. So the Creedmoor shoots a heavier, larger diameter bullet with noticeably less recoil with nearly identical ballistics
