For such a long time it was a massively underrated love song. Madness were a big cult band here down under. Then a few of their songs found the mainstream and they became pretty big when I was at school. Everyone had their symbol on their backpacks. I think it is a brilliant song and a love song. A few commercials used it here too a few years ago and walking around the house with the tv on and I heard this song it took me back to school days.

They hired Big Bird for this shoot on the back of his success with Sesame Street. Big Bird was very demanding and a bit of a diva - difficult, as a matter of fact - but a total professional on camera as you would expect with any American genius lending their talent to a small British pop video. Hats off to Big Bird.

By the initial warning, he means don't play the electric guitar underwater. This song was written by Labi Siffre who is one of the players sitting down dressed in white. (He smiles at the end). Labi Siffre is an artist in his own right. He's not a member of Madness.

The yellow bird in the video was not Big Bird from Sesame St, It was Busby who was the brand mascot for the Post Office/BT Telephone Company in the UK at that time in the late 70's and early 80's. By the way, Love the way you like the British old school stuff from when i was a teenager.
