Plus his drummer would talk about a dream he had of Stevie and they were jamming...and after a bit in his dream, Stevie would say, "I have to go". Ever wonder if in our honest dreams, it could be a possible real connection to loved ones? Adios hoss 👍 keep rocking! UP THE IRONS!!!

He was absolutely something special!! He didn't copy Jimi Hendrix or Albert King or anyone else… he simply borrowed sounds that he liked and infused it in his own style. @@subzero308 You're completely clueless. Even Eric Clapton said there was no one better than SRV. You don't know music or the guitar if his greatness isn't obvious to you.
@lelarich2148
@lelarich2148 2 ай бұрын
@@subzero308 Stevie himself stated he was INFLUENCED by the likes of Jimi Hendrix, Albert King, Eric Clapton, Muddy Waters and Jimmie Vaughan(his brother) with whom he accredited his love of playing guitar. Nobody said Stevie did it first, they are saying he was able to carry on a dying genre of music and he put his own signature on just like Hendrix, Albert and many more did before them. Personally I prefer Stevie's singing voice over Hendrix's, but there are things about Hendrix I that I'd prefer over Stevie's version. Stevie had his own sound that was influenced by people he looked up to and Hendrix had his own style that was influenced by people he looked up to. At the end of the day they were both out of this world talented and had they ever met I would like to think they would have gotten along, but that's something we will never know.

Fun fact: from the moment Stevie broke the string to the moment he hit the first note on the replacement guitar, it took precisely 30 seconds - and he didn't miss a single beat. THAT, boys and girls, is class!

This. Exactly. One of my favorite Jimi tracks is the long form "Voodoo Child", not slight return. Jimi was a pioneer, and flipped guitar on its head, with some otherworldly talent and amazing tracks/performances. Stevie was an evolution of Jimi that was damn near from another dimension. I love them both, and it doesn't really seem fair to compare the two, even though they're really the only ones you can compare the other to.

SRV copied everything from Hendrix and was playing in the time of hair metal and shredders LMAO.. of course hes gonna stand out playing Hendrix songs. srv is cool but hes just a copy of the real thing.

@@subzero308actually, Jimi copied from lots of guitarists, including T-Bone Walker and Buddy Guy. He copied so much from Buddy that after a Buddy Guy gig, they met backstage and Jimi reportedly said to Buddy something like, "Hey man, I really dug your set; I'd like to record it." All heroes stand on the shoulders of giants.

His change during life without you video is so awesome that if you are not watching closely you will miss it. He also breaks a tooth when he plays with his teeth.

I'm so glad you watched this! Stevie Ray Vaughan is a guitar God. This clip alone shows the massive skills this gentleman had. It is truly a shame he is no longer here.
