In this video, we play around with image stabilization on the Olympus OMD EM5 MII and the GoPro HERO 7 Black. My husband and I decided to do this just for fun to see what results we would get with the Olympus OMD on my tripod which was strapped to the side of my camera bag. I did not expect the results I got from this little test and I am glad I did it. The image stabilization in the Olympus systems really shines in this and honestly it isn't fair against the hypersmooth of the GoPro 7 but it came out nice.

Great video. I’m also a OLYMPUS shooter but I always use my go pro seven and even the six to record me out in the field. go pro set to go pro colors because it takes too much time to color grade.... workflow equals content

What's the point of such comparison with Olympus on a backpack vs holding go pro nicely in a hand?

forgewire this whole thing didnt start as a comparison at all but was an idea we thought of just for us while we were out. I was surprised at how well the Olympus did on the backpack and so I shared it. It is not scientific and not meant to be taken as such. I said that in the video. It was just an idea and playing around. The GoPro 7 handles anything no natter where you mount it so it really doesn’t matter if I was hand holding it or not. This was just for fun.

For real? Are you crazy? 1 Cam is on the bag and another is on hand, of course the cam on your hand will look alot better.

i use a gopro 5. i hike and ya i dont want to carry around a heavy gimbal. plus i just dont have enough subs to bother buying a gimbal for it. the 7 looks awesome tho

Shooting in this way causes dizziness for those who watch the video !! It was better to install the camera on a steady stabilizer stick and wander around it, as you did with the GoPro .
