I left the theater with a smile on my face. I thought they did an excellent job with the slow burn suspense horror. 8 out of 10 for me, would definitely watch it again.

Some people don't care about the practical effects or the time and effort that went into creating them. I'm not trying to be mean, that's just the mindset of some cynical people who criticize this movie who only care about the story and nothing else. It's product over a good viewing experience. It's sad that for some people, these other aspects aren't being praised or recognized.

When I was a kid I watched this episode of Tales From the Darkside abiut a teddy bear that belonged to a little girl. Anytime anything happened, the little girl would blame the teddy bear. It would do these scary things horrible things. At the end it came to life and mauled the family. My mother used it to encourage me to go to bed or she would get the bear. I think this might be where the screen writer for the film may have gotten the idea.

Ayyye I loved the shout-out to Never Back Down that movie is fire and is the one good movie Jeff Wadlow actually made, I mean I like Kick-Ass 2 but the first movie is still better and I'm like no one ever brings up Never Back Down when talking about Jeff Wadlow movies but you did Cris good on you ! 🤘🔥 ✊👊 🥊

I liked the beginning. Didn’t like the middle or ending. I actually had no idea that it was like insidious with an alternate dimension or whatever. That’s not my thing…and I didn’t look hard enough at the icon since it should’ve been obvious.

Actually, I think that spider monster character was from that storybook about the centipede girl and the nice spider guy in the movie and the spider guy was part of someone’s imagination that once abandoned he turns into a monster looking spider guy.

I absolutely LOVED Imaginary... They managed to PERFECTLY capture the basic premise of THE EXORCIST... while giving us a completely different/original story! xD You can watch Imaginary, and 100% understand The Exorcist.

I enjoyed it but I think you missed the boat on a lot of points you brought up and missed the connections that were being made. The spider was in the flashbacks and was recalling Jessica’s youth. It even became the focus point of her books. Alice was only used to get Jessica to return to Chauncey in his world. I agree some of the dialogue could have been better but it wasn’t as terrible as you made it out to be. And what’s wrong with the ventriloquist line. I assume most people expected that to come up given the context of the situation.

I loved the concept but now i feel like its so basic. They make it more of a story and family drama instead of a horror movie. I predicted a lot of the twists. Although i love the twist that the bear wasnt there. Ending was generic. Ended in a basement and the young girl defeated the monster. Felt a lot like boogeyman. But that movie was scary.

I saw Imaginary last night. The film had potential, but it suffered from poor direction story wise. Since my ambition is to review movies in a literary fashion, I will write my opinion then send it to every popular magazine. Everyone please help me by answering this question: When Imaginary opened did the first minute grab your attention? Why or why not? For me, already having seen the trailers, it gave away a good chunk of the movie.
