Imaging the Lion Nebula Under Heavy Light Pollution With William Optics GT71 & ZWO ASI533MC Pro

This video shows how I created an HOO image in PixInsight. The data for this target was collected last year in October 2022.
This is the imaging setup I used:
Telescope: William Optics GT71
Main Camera: ZWO ASI533MC Pro
Guide Scope: William Optics Slide Base 50mm
Guide Camera: ZWO ASI120MM Mini
Mount: Celestron Advance VX
Control: ZWO ASIAir Plus
The images were taken with Optolong L-eXtreme filter. They were stacked with 20 Darks, 50 Flats and 50 Dark-Flats in PixInsight using the WBPP 2.0 script.

Nice image of the Lion nebula quite a tricky target to capture due to it being quite dim, nice job.

Although the tastes are very personal, try not to oversaturate the colors. That takes away from the naturalness of the beautiful images you captured. I like the intermediate images better than the final one. Greetings

Did you get the finder shoe with the GT71 or was that separate?

The finder show is actually built into the handle of GT71. I believe it’s a standard with all Zenith Star, Red Cat and Gran Turismo series. You don’t need to buy it. Thanks!

@@AstroCrescentDIY Right but i need another finder shoe for the Asiair. Does the GT71 come with a finder shoe for the focuser? (Separate from nicer handle/shoe)

I see…you may buy a universal finder show from Amazon for $15 or so. Just make sure it is for refractor telescopes.
