Newt was the perfect blend of scrappy and vulnerable. Killing her off camera in Aliens 3 was a dick move. Carrie's Newt deserved a happily ever after.

She was perfectly cast as Newt. To do one movie and it ends up being a legendary one 🤯 Always amazing how some filmmakers can cast someone with no acting experience and they turn in an amazing performance. It's like Wolfgang Bodison from A Few Good Men who played Harold W. Dawson, one of the marines on trial. Similar story to Carrie Henn. Rob Reiner thought he'd be good for the part even though he'd never acted before but his performance is so good.

9? I thought she was about 12 when I first saw this film. Then again, I was about 8 when I spotted the VHS display box in the "late" 80s with the word "ALIENS" written on it. - I couldn't resist and demanded my parents to rent it. You know back in even that day, there wasn't complaints.

God bless Carrie Henn she did an excellent job as Newt the sole survivor of Aliens (1986) anyway I saw Aliens (1986) in the early 2000s as a preteen so i have considered Carrie Henn number 1 and both the greatest and the legendary child actress out of every other child actress because Carrie Henn did so well as Newt and of course Aliens (1986) is her one and only movie she was in but to me Carrie Henn will be forever rememberd as the coolest child actress in Aliens (1986) the greatest sci-fi action and horror movie ever created and directed by James Cameron as well:).

It's very, very hard to have a child in an horror/action/sci-fi movie and not only making it work, but making the audience love that character. Jim Cameron pulled it off... it's a perfect combination of casting and writing. Of course you have to put on that poor character's shoulders a terrible past, that's almost a rule (think of the orphans of old literature like Oliver Twist, Sara Crewe, Pollyanna...).
