A Like and Subscribe would be amazing! Also - This chair will be uploaded very soon as part of iMeshh Exclusive which you can find here - shop.imeshh.com
Also grab the image files for my chair here - www.imeshh.com/?smd_process_d...
I hope you like this format! It's a bit different but I hope it is still enjoyable to watch. It is a bit more of an intermediate level but hopefully I can let you know of some good tips! I'll upload the chair very soon so you can download it on iMeshh soon
Thanks for watching everyone!

Awesome video! Thank you very much for sharing. About selecting the larger loops: I am bad with explaining only with words, so I made a short video how I do that: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/ncqnmMlixMClc3k.html

I had a nice idea for that wrapped twig kind of material. If you make a cylinder without caps, cut it at one vertical rib. Select one edge and use proportional editing with linear falloff. Then move it about the same height up as it is high. Add a array modifier on z-axis. Now we get that nice wrap around effect. We could use a dummy placeholder so we can use shrinkwrap to make it fit tighter. If you need more control you can always add a lattice.

I guess this would look really nice for closeups because the wrapping looks more realistic this way. IT was also super easy and fast to setup. You basically control the wrapping with the shrinkwrap source. I set this to outline and has just 5-6 horizontal rings so i can control that complete wrapped twig or whicker.

Here's what it looks like. At end you could apply the array so you can fold in the ends like its in real life. The ends are folded below so it holds its place. Here's also my test file for people who want to see it, www.filedropper.com/whicker-wrapped ibb.co/f26cBJ3 ibb.co/2hFXw5C

To select all your bigger loops like that for the wrap: Select one loop Shift+G Perimeter or Area

That is definitely true! I think I had tried it and I couldn't get the threshold correct and would too often select faces which I didn't want to. This was because the cylinder which I morphed into shape, and then added edge loops, would end up with faces with slightly all different sizes. But I guess if I spent more time working on the threshold value I could have found a value that worked

PS i hope you only UV unwrapped one side, then deleted the other side and duplicate and flip it. Could see if you actually unwrapped both sides. PS there's also the STUNNING addon MagicUV, it comes with Blender these days. It has tons of very handy features

amazing tutorial..i like too much !, I am a rattan chair designer, and I got inspiration from this video about how to make a chair model quickly and effectively, but is it possible to make technical drawings using this blender software?

PS you can also set the image to be only viewed from a certain direction. That way you don't need to hide them each time.

Ah yes, Ill probably do that next time. Although it worked out quite fine and didn't get in the way too much. And shirt changing? No idea what you're talking about ;)

I wonder if using a lattice would also allow for easier placement of those finer bamboo string. Im not 100% sure if it would suash or stretch the curves. If it will work its a non-destructive method. Which is always nice
@imeshh
@imeshh 4 жыл бұрын
@@RomboutVersluijs hmm I don't know. Potentially for sure, although I know some parts were very particular and would require that I pull certain parts close to the model which may end up taking more time with the lattice. But yeah as you say, for a non destructive version that could definitely be possible!

Another way of doing it, is modeling it using a place. then when done subdivide it so you have enough of those twigs. then delete the faces and finally convert to bezier. Perhaps you'll end up with to much points though
@imeshh

@@RomboutVersluijs I think this is the reason why I love blender. There are so many elegant solutions to any problem. But yeah you may end up with too many verticies, but, you'll have more ability to change it later too if you so wanted to

hey! Yes i'm very sorry, this was more of an intermediate tutorial so I breezed over that stuff. But hmm, I would recommend Josh Gambrell who has some amazing tutorials. Mostly hard-surface but it should help you with a lot of the modifiers that I go over in the video kzfaq.infovideos
