Benonite powder is what you need to get borehole from collapse out about 20 lbs per 200 gallon of water in pit then start pump and mix up then start your rig and drill that will put a sticky on sand and hold it back

David, I have been have been drilling in sandy soils and been having problems with loosing all my drilling water and the bore hole collapsing. What do you recommend as a fluid additive to prevent these problems?

Why does the casing have to extend as far down as the drill stem?

pvc casing well FIRST put a well screen then the 4 inch pvc casing glue them untill all is down then ur pump will go inside the pvc pipe the casing prevents the dirt from caving in on your pump thats why you put pvc pipe in borehole with a well screen in if you dont put pvc pipe [casing ] in then if your pump is in there the dirt will cave in on it and it will not work with dirt filled in on top casing is to put pump in side and pump your Clean water out to surface super simple

How do you know what depth to stop at ?

When you get the watersand it all most drops so when you see that drill a few ft and stop on the next clay are hard pan and circulate for a few minutes then cut pump off and trip all pipe out and set your pvc well screen in and then glue your sch#40 pvc casing and till all in always set casing ASAP don’t take lunch and give it time to cave in but yes u will see the drill pipe go down much faster than normal that’s your water bearing sand put your well screen there with a cap on the bottom

@@davidgroesch1136 here in west Ky it seems bed rock is about 10-15 feet down . Not sere what stone it is but when I see it exposed in the creek bed on my property it looks like fossilized material. I would have to go through it to get away from contaminated ground water on the ranch . Can this drill penetrate bedrock ?

ROCK u need a ROCK bit called a TRI CONE Roller bit we have them $585.00 for a 4 1/2 inch and $789.00 for a 6 inch ROCK Tri Cone Bit
