hello yes we have used this Drill unit to Drill hunderds of well boreholes with the same as you have BUT i see that u had it for over a year and were using a 6 inch drag bit that came with it that bit is a great drill bit and its super great on SAND ,Clay and Shale and small gravel and your not going to harm the DEEPROCK drag bit BUT You are drilling in ROCK there is no worst area to drill ROCKS is like steel plate and the HD-55 Pro is our most ecomomical drill we make we have rigs thate drill 1000ft deep in grainite or BOBCAT RAM to Rigs that drill to 400 ft and fully hydraulic BUT you bought our most ecomonical hand crack rig that will do the job MUCH slower i cant believe you did not contact us to buy a 6 inch TRI CONE ROCK bit it will rotate on the ROCK and grind it into sand partices you have been using a Sand and clay and shale drill bit ans it will try to grab the rock but slips and it will bounce up and down up and down and you have tore your gears up from the abuse of you using the WRONG Drill Bit no one uses a sand and clay bit on ROCK it will bounce up and down for hours tryin to get a grip on the rock u have i wish you would have emailed of called us so we could have bought the correct drill bit for what you have at your house instead of tearing the gearbox up and getting a new gearbox and tearing it up just put on what we call a TRI CONE ROLLER ROCK BIT and then it grinds the ROCK in to sand particles simple fix so get a new gearbox for about $189 and bolt it on and then get a TRI CONE ROCK bit and then go gettem SIR we have them in stock everybody that hits ROCK then you take the drag bit off and put the TRI CONE ROCK bit on and see the world of differance it makes no more JUMPING UP AND DOWN and abusing the gearbox shaft and swivel just rotates and grinds the rock it for ROCK only then after you go thur the Rock then put the Blasthole drag bit back on give us a call and ill get you one at a vet good cost have a great year and drill many more years with it and if you have any question just ask ive drilled over 350 wells and can answer questions super fast ny calls or emails or text wwwdeeprock.com

@@davidgroesch1136Some assumptions on your part. I did purchase two tricone bits and used them, one was brand new. The bits just spin for hours not cutting or grinding anything. Seems the whole unit really isn’t heavy enough for the downward pressure needed to make them effective. I will call you again and see if you have any other ideas. The second gearbox came apart using the tricone bit. Nothing grabbing or jumping.

@@davidgroesch1136 It would be on my own land. We have a lot of limestone and bedrock, our area is karst geology. My neighbors are 170 ft , 60 ft to bedrock 10 GPM flow. I have contacted all drillers within 50 miles and the best quote I got was $12k. How many hrs operating one of these would it theoretically take to dig 200ft with this machine ballpark? Can it be done solo?

pro drillers dont want to come drill a 100 ft borehole they drill deep and by the foot and charge what they want so its up to the land owner to call a driller and get quotes on shallow 850 to 100 ft wells and if he is not interested then its the home owners right to do what he need s to do to have water for his cattle ect

Your video does not talk about keeping the borehole open so that the well pipe and screen can be installed. Many geologic situations require that an upper casing be installed to prevent infiltration from the surficial aquifer. Do you have a video that addresses how to accomplish that?
