I got a Longer5 laser cutter as a precursor to 3d printing. For geekdom it’d be useful to make 3D puzzle crafts to assemble into roleplay weapons or custom props and buildings for figures. If a house has one, taking a laser cutter to and from an outside balcony would be the easiest ventilation.

oh gosh, i was freaking out until you showed the enclosure and the air pump. glad you have the set up. even if it just "plain" wood you don't may not known if there has been any additional treatment or contamination in warehouse that pulls out fumes even worse in a close room. Laser cutting opens a whole new range of projects.

I had modified my Longmill CNC router to accept a 20 Watt laser. I built an enclosure so the dust would not get all over the garage. When I had added the laser I installed a 50 CFM bathroom exhaust fan which ran me $22.00 for the enclosure. The exhaust fan has a 4 inch diameter duct which I reduced to 3 inches with an adapter. I run it out the side of the garage. Of course I leave the fan off if I am using the CNC router.

There is a specific setup in light burn to set the parameters for the rotary that will sort out the elongated leters. You need to let it know.

Yeah, it's a tad bit pricier than 3D printing I'll give it that much. but at the same time, it was sorta nice to spend 2 bucks on a piece of wood at the dollar store and make a cool sign out of it either way, factors to consider for sure

i have the 10w falcon and very dissapointed by its connectivity... using mac you can only connect via USB-A. No wifi either. Does this model connect via USB-C at least or wifi ?

at 4:24 I say micro but discovered later it was USB C so sorry if that caused any confusion!
