Immigration Having "Undisputed Effect" On Public Services | Isabel Oakeshott

Nigel Farage has described Reform UK’s employer immigration tax plan as a “bold, innovative policy”.
The party’s honorary president said: “I can hear the multinationals wailing already because, you’re quite right we have become addicted to cheap, foreign labour.”
He said “nothing slippery (Prime Minister Rishi) Sunak says is believable” and added that when he hears Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer, he “zones out”.
Talk's international editor Isabel Oakeshott said she would be fascinated to see how the 'immigration tax' policy would go down, telling Peter Cardwell that the "huge number" of people coming into the country was having an "undisputed" influence on public services.

As successive governments of the two main parties have not addressed the issue, it lends credence to the belief that both main parties are brown nosing big business. They are the only beneficiaries of maintaining a high level of workers willing to work for low pay and poor workers rights. If we as a nation did what many other countries do, that is to protect job for the home team that would remove any benefit. I have worked abroad for many years, in all of the other countries that I have lived ie Mexico, they will not give a foreign national any job that can be done by a Mexican. This seems perfectly right and proper to me. We need to have every British person that can work, in a job, off the dole and paying tax and contributing to society, before any job can be offered to a non citizen. If the word was out that there are no benefits, no housing, no chance of a visa and no help whatsoever for those breaking the law to come here that might be a deterrent.

We are getting plenty of middle aged and older legally moving here with little working life left to contribute to the income support pensions they will drain from our pension pot. The governments answer is to keep on raising the retirement age and giving us one of the worst pensions in Europe while spinning the lie we need evermore immigration to pay for our pensions as if the newly arrived won’t also need their pensions paying for. We would need to tax the middle aged and even more elderly arrivals at an enormous rate to even things up with those who paid NI and taxes since leaving school.

I’m not sure the plan goes far enough. The universities pull in many hundreds of thousands, in some cases including families. In effect, they have maximised their profits whilst socialising their costs. They, too, should pay a tax to offset the public service costs of such students and their families.

@GKSC
@GKSC 29 күн бұрын
@grumpyoldveteran7286 Reform focus and grow through local elections, build seat count by winning constituencies. For this general election, it will need every single vote to actually vote Tory (bare with me)... That would stop Labour, and keep Tories accountable for their mess, and give Reform the 6 YEARS they require to grow. Labour is a serious imminent threat to this country! It is happening now! Reform is on a 6 year plan, and can't prevent a Labour government NOW, anyway (maybe not even in 6 years - Reform is surfing a wave of desperate populism, which 'might' actually reduce if Tories do what they've been told to by the public, and sort the snivel service out). Even if every proGB voter backed Tory*** it will still be VERY close. Their number is huge, and far less divided than the ProGB. The RemainEU mob is already piping up. Reform can't win now, and can't prevent a Labour government. Conservatives can. It's not a vote expecting anything from Tories, and swallowing their bs, or consenting to their perversions... but it keeps Labour out until Reform are ready. Labour will do a lot of damage... Look at their form. If Labour gets into number 10, I am seriously considering emigration for my own safety (and my family). Khan did it for London. Amazed. Nobody trusts or likes Tories for what they've done, but I still believe Labour are the much bigger threat. One of those two will win in any case. Which do you prefer? Whichever that is, that's who to vote for. Reform begging for seats in a general election is very suspicious to me - I would call it 'evidence', even. They only have to stand candidates in locals to get seats. EDIT: ** I corrected a typo. It was 'Labour', but was supposed to be 'Tories'.

Put it like this, back in around 2006/2008 Gordon Brown opened our boarders for the swarms of Eastern Europeans to move here. British business would not employ Brits it was cheaper to employ immigrants. To add insult to injury, businesses we’re closing by the dozens in counties and moving to China and Poland after using up all the E.U grants, because that too was cheaper. The problem we have is greedy businessmen/companies who are not satisfied with a profit, every year they want bigger and fatter profits at any cost.

Additional tax on both the employer and employee would only be contraversial to the foreign employee. It would be a deterent to immigration. I can't see Reform voters taking issue with it. Go one further and limit the tax deductibility of wages paid for immigrant (both legal and illegal immigrant) labour (in the case of legal immigrants outside certain specified sectors and also unless the employer demonstrates both that he has made extensive efforts to employ non-immigrant labour and has invested or paid over to recognised training bodies an amount equal to a percentage of the immigrant's wages for the purpose of training non-immigrabt's labour for the post concerned. Furthermore make it illegal to employ illegal immigrants. All public sector bodies should be constrained from employing immigrant labour save in tightly defined areas where extensive efforts have been made to fill the post with non-immigrant labour and the employer also pays towards the training of non-immigrants as described above.

Even more effective if combined with the of the carrot of a tax break for proven employment of UK workers, with the stick of reforms proposed tax on the employment of cheap foreign labour.

Whats the problem here, I thought mass immigration has been great for the UK . I mean it has brought great economic growth, migrants integrating wonderfully with the natives and all of them obeying our laws while at the same time respecting our culture . Well thats what our politicians and left wing are telling us any way so it must be true surely.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This really isn't the solution. They will only find loopholes to take advantage. Emergency action is required. Send everyone back who dumped their passport & identity. Now ! otherwise we will have imported many thousands against our welcoming love of people.🧡🙏
