my anatomy book says that eosinophil is the one that responds to an allergic reaction or a parasitic infection though? they lessen the severity of allergies by engulfing antibody-antigen complexes that reduce degree of inflammation and control its spread to adjacent tissues. Basophils migrate to an injury site where they discharge their granules into the interstitial fluids. Granule contains histamine which dilates blood vessels and heparin.

I just did some more digging and realized that Dendritic Cells can be either Myeloid or Lymphoid in origin, but I still can't find anything about Mast Cells coming from Myeloblasts. Everything I can find says that Myeloid Progenitors branch into lineages that become Mast Cells, Granulocytes, and Megakaryocytes/Erythrocytes.

Actually i think that the haemopoetic stem cells are multipotent instead of pluripotent, because they give rise only to all types of blood cells, but not all types of cells in the body; they cannot become ,for instance, neuro cells..:?

Thanks for all of the videos and I'm a big fan. I found a diagram that seems to disagree with you, though, namely in that Myeloblasts precede only Monocytes and Granulocytes, excluding Mast Cells, which arise from a common precursor further "up" from a Myeloblast. It also says that Dendritic Cells arise from Lymphoid Progenitors, not Myeloid. I would include the link to the graphic, but KZfaq prevents me from doing so. Can you please reconcile these differences?

My immune system is optimal, yet I have osteopenia. I do have a genetic predisposition for osteoporosis, but I’m wondering where the problem might lie in the the process. Any guidance in finding a biological explanation would be appreciated. My teacher asked a question on the test about which one of these are NOT a leukocyte? The choices were erythrocytes, B cells, neutrophils, and dendritic cells. Is it just me or was this a poorly worded question bc when I picked red blood cells, unfortunately it was wrong!

yes, B cells are a kind of lymphocytes, and lymphocytes are a kind of leukocytes, but erythrocytes aren't leukocytes. WBCs= leukocytes RBCs=erythrocytes

Armando, the med symbol on your videos is wrong. The med symbol is actually a staff with one snake. The symbol on your videos is the one for accounting.

B cells are called lymphocytes, not leukocytes.

The answer would be B-cells because they are Lymphocytes.

platelets are not molecules and are not „secreted” by a megakaryocyte! anyway, your videos are veryvery useful, but this was a huge mistake. keep posting these, i really appreciate them! j.
