Independent Medical Opinion (IMO) - Usually a non-VA medical provider's professional medical-opinion about your diagnosed conditions as they relate to your military service. These opinions often include an evaluation of previous medical records as well as medical literature references to support the link between the claimed disability and the veteran's service. An IMO can:
Rebut a previous VA decision
Establish the medical nexus element of service connection
Show an increase in severity of your disability
