the damage multipliers are interesting with Imodane, because you actually get the effect twice when you hit a creature: once when the initial spell happens, and then another time when the Imodane trigger hits the opponent. There were a few times where your calculus was wrong because you didn't account for the extra multiplier.

i used to have a sneaky mutate deck using brash taunter. Love that card.

One of the very first decks I built that was competitive was a Repercussions deck. It did pretty well in a time when the Odyssey block first came out and dual lands were still Extended legal. It was G/R and I ran phantoms for my creatures. So I could block all day and they would take damage. And I ran cards like earthquake. So if they had multiple creatures on the table it usually just meant game. I have never seen anyone else play a similar deck like that. This commander has a little of that flavor.

I don't play mono red, so perhaps I misunderstood. The game against Vivien, doesn't he have lethal a turn earlier by copying a token with the mirror and swinging? Maybe the mirror is non-token?

He's our scrub. CGB misses lethal all the time. He makes goofy decisions that cost him plenty of games. It's ok. Don't we all? As a control player, the act of finding lethal is against CGB's nature to play with his food. We're probably lucky that it happens as much as it does.

At the end of the second game when CGB decided to block incoming attackers with one of his Goblin Shamans and resigned himself to needing to draw an untapped land... couldn't he have just blocked the Old-Growth Troll with Imodane? He didn't need her any more, it's not like Banefire only targets creatures. Could he not have just guaranteed the win that way instead of relying on the draw, or am I missing something?

Do Solphim + Imodane do 4x damage to the opponent when you hit a creature? X damage to creature, doubled, then 2X to opponent from Imodane, doubled again?

@@therealax6 You can also use enchantments like Fiery Emancipation to further increase the multiply. I closed a paper table casting a Lightning bolt (lol) using that enchantment and Solphim.

I think Boots won that game agains pt Kaalia. If they were able to remove Imodane you wouldn’t have been able to destroy their life total like you did.
