I would love a 10 to 20 minute video on your experience with this cartridge vs the 300 prc. Pros and cons stuff like that.

Would be great. Would love yo know if it is worth the trouble to have the sherman mag over the prc, since the prc is commercially more available for the average guy on the street

You can shoot the PRC in the Sherman. It is hands down worth doing in my opinion. Much more consistent round when reloading. My standard deviation is 7fps. 230 Berger Hybrid at 3106fps. Absolutely destroys what I was getting out of 225’s in my long throat 300 PRC. Long story short, if you want to shoot factory stick to the PRC. If you are hand loading, 30 Sherman and never look back!!

I have been running the 30 Sherman since Rich developed it. The 230 Atip can be pushed to 3150 with 85 gr of N570. However that load is hard on brass. If you need anything in load data up to 250s I am happy to help. Rich is a good friend. Was also a licensed ph in Botswana as a young man.

If the velocity was dropped to 2950-3000 how long would you expect brass life to be? I own a Bergara 300 prc and I’m interested in the Sherman.

So, I use ADG brass and at 85gr I was getting about 5 reloads then loose pockets. At 84gr I get 12 or so, and my velocity is 3050. The prc is simply not quite designed right to really make full use of the case. I had rich send me a reamer as I will never be without the big dirty 30.... Hornady brass, once formed only lasts about 4 reloads at 84 and at 85 you may get 2 after forming.

I was not impressed with the temperature fluctuations with the N570. Retumbo at 83gr with ADG brass and a 230 Hybrid has been my solid go to and nets 3046fps. 84gr is running a touch over 3100fps. Accuracy is 1/4 moa @ 200yds with 83gr so I stopped there. Rich did an amazing job on this alteration!!

Great video. You can definitely put them where you want them. Brain farts will ruin your day, It's not just you, happens to everyone. From experience I can tell you it wont be the last one I'm afraid. I visited your country before you were born. Went down on safari back in 1970, I was just 16 and LOVED IT. Gorgeous place! Couldn't get enough of it. That month I was down there went by really fast!

This past weekend I did my first long range shoot (at steel) with Wouter De Wet instructing and am proud to say I hit centre on the 1km gong first shot in fairly hectic winds. Wouter gave great instruction on how to read wind etc and it was so cool applying what I learned to your shoot now and hearing how you made your wind adjustments etc. Thanks for another awesome vid from a noobie to the 1km club!!!

I used the fix it sticks level kit for my Bergara HMR in 308 and Steiner M7xi. It's not guitar as intuitive as your wheeler system but it worked very well. One level clamps on the scope base below the optic and one magnetic level sits on the elevation turret. It worked very well for me.

Would you please use shooting glasses...one pierced primer, or one split case and you will have the hot gas cook your eyeball...I know this from experience as I had a split case in a match with a Remington 40XC and the hot gas came back right in my eye...I had shooting glasses on which saved my vision in my right eye...and double up on the hearing protection! I am surprised that you were allowed to shoot this rifle match without proper safety protection...all the best from your American cousin!
