I have the same boots minus the ST. I would put some good grease or oil on them and they will fit like a glove in no time. I don't think the heel should be separating that soon you may want to talk to them about that. mine have zero separation and I wear mine in the woods logging.

Nick's are famous for a long break in period because the leather is so thick compared to others. Once you get them broken in they will be the best thing your feet have ever lived in....

Fire fighter here. I soak mine in water as soon as I get them. Tie them up tight and wear them for 20-30 minutes or wear them until dry. Then oil them. they fit a lot better after that.

Just a heads up the red x wears faster then the regular v100. I use them 50 hrs a week and the v100 regular sole lasts a few months longer then the red x sole.

Yea, used some of that nicks conditioner that comes with the boots, didn’t turn out too well. Kinda waxy. Used obenaufs oil this last time, came out way better.

About a year later, you still wearin em? Are you still enjoying? I'm about a month in on my Builder Pro's and I did the same as you, jumped right in wearing them for the first time during a 12 hour shift, that shit sucked but it was well worth it looking back.

I am! Just splitting my time with these and franks patriot boots. BPs for work most days, then patriots for days off. I’ve been lazy and haven’t done a video yet for the one year. Overall they’re great. Pretty well water proof, at least for just being in the elements. And just gets comfier with time. The heel is wearing a bit faster than I’d like, but better than my Chippewa loggers by far. But I do a lot of walking.

I honestly think the red x would be better for retail. I just a a pair of JK with red x (chemical resistant) and a while back I worked at a grocery store in produce and we had a walk in cooler that lead into a food pre area. Every day we had to scrub the floors, and that was some strong stuff kinda wish I had these red x soles then.

@@skidooer583 True, but according to Nicks they are also chemical resistant. It was important for my work, and I made sure to confirm it.

The crepe sole would be better for retail, because there is ZERO reason for this aggressive tread and heel in a warehouse / retail environment

Nice boots. I think you actually have a pair of Hot Shots, not Builder Pros. No difference in construction, but you have the fire resistant threading (BPs have white vamp stitching) and red x sole. I have the exact same pair of Hot Shots.

Do they make hot shots with steel toe though?
@howdypardner4128
@howdypardner4128 Жыл бұрын
@@dossreviews Huh, that is really odd. I think you can MTO a steel toe BP with the fire resistant features, but you said you got it through quick ship? Must be a one-off mistake on their part with no downside for you. Does it have the NFPA certification tag on the tongue?

What did you pay for them. Seriously thinking of getting a pair. They will last the rest of my life if I take care of them. I love their videos of making or repairing them. Just bought a pair of Thorogoods but got the Comp type version and don't care for them at all. BTW, they are for sale and are a size 10. Anyone want them for $150+ shipping, they are yours. Paid $230 and have worn them outside 1 time total. They are in brand new condition. Interested, reply to my reply and I'll get in touch with you....

So far so good. I get a bit sweaty. But it’s not like uncomfortable or anything. I probably wouldn’t wear wool socks with them though. That being said I also haven’t had them for a summer yet so we’ll see if the New Mexico heat makes me think differently of them.
