Great job - I just lowered from 55 to 50 degrees FOV and instantly took off 0.3 seconds from my PB at Kyalami. So much easier to hit apexes now. Doesn't feel as "rushed" as it used to. Kudos man.

The FOV calculators found online are absolutely BS at calculating the number you need. I have 27" monitor and am away from it by 68 cm which tells me to use 26 FOV in ACC. This is nonsense as it will glue you to the windshield itself and you won't have any peripheral vision, everything will show like a giant at the tip of your nose. I found that the optimum usable FOV window for a 27" monitor would be 38-41 as you mentioned in this video. I use the dashboard cam and adjust the sitting distance just enough to show the actual car dash at the bottom of the screen. I also make sure my right wheel is barely seen at the right edge of the screen.

Kryptic, what is your calculated FOV, out of curiosity? I hear you said you use a 27" screen, so I wonder if the low 40s wouldn't be your accurate FOV anyway???

im having a 24.5 inch monitor and have max FOV. and very near distance to the point when the interior of the car ends and the track begin .

What should the FoV be it's a triple screen setup?

I'm always tweaking the settings, very different from car to car. I wish ACC would let you disable certain cameras we never use, have the name of the camera in the settings, and let you change camera views while in the settings page so you can do tweak each of them in that single instance of going into settings, rather than having to go back on track, change camera, then go back into settings.

What waste of waistebogging. FOV is mathematical computation using hardware sizes and the game presented view angles per view mode. It is fixed. It does not move. It can be moved once. After the calculation. Not while streaming and trying things out with no point of where or what is going to be proven to help te sim community out. FOV in ACC is off. That is a fact. FOV needs to be corrected through a decent FOV calculator (even those give differences, which is blatant idiocy). For my 55" I need the width of the monitor and the bezel width, the detrimental factor is number three, my retinal distance to my screen. ASSuming you run a 16:1 ratio, any decent FOV calculator will give you the one and only correct FOV. IF the sim software does not, like some FOV calculatorLORDS outthere on the innerWebz, represent a correct representation of the FOV value in the view settings, then you're off to the drawing board and I do mean pen and paper. Measuring barriers, marshall average lengths, known values in the sim representation. Introducing the calculated value you will need, based on cockpit photographs observe and adapt the head position, no matter what in-sim-inCockpit view. With the experiments of you physically observing in a regular car what your small circle of focus is and where your INNER peripheral vision starts and where the totally useless OUTER peripheral vision starts. Working your way backwards from your simulated cockpit position towards FOV but WITH verification of known distances and object dimensions in the simulated view and how they look sitting in your car (flavour like HEIGHTand TILT etc merely matter at the final process) is the long way to go if you want to do it right when the settings are wrong. Try the slightly moving helmet cam. It gives. You should receive. It's like it's supposed to be. If you don't grab my wheel and sit on your hood like a king. Djeez. Dashcam is rubbish. ALL is rubbish once you verify purposefully in a real car WHAT you see, when NOT moving your head. what you think you see but need to turn your eyeballs for to be sure and what is totally blurry brainguesswork. Have your mom stand at measured distances and angles. Remember your mom. No go to the sim and find your mom. It"s that orange blimp whith a shrubby beard. Position your car. Work from your sim sitting position towards your mom. That's all I have to say about your mom. FOV is everything. Clicking up and down and "feeling" like if it's "a good speed" is not done. Just like using the dashcam and being the king of the hood. And remember your mom. My mom dies last week. I ran her over. Wrong FOV.
