Very nice video, thank you. I too have the broadcast dual pedal. Yes, very unique sound. It definitely adds a little something extra, and thanks for showing us how it sounds with a little compression in front of it.

Great lesson Adrian. Always been a fan of funk, especially Nile Rodgers and Leo Nocentelli of the Meters. Hoping to see Nile Rodgers this summer at the Starlite Festival in Marbella!

great drills, thank you. edited to add, the free backing track is really well done, sounds great and good fun. Agree about compression. A great tool. like any effect, just because it can sound great, doesn't need to be slathered on everything. Funk guitar especially needs to have a good measure of percussive-ness and some dynamic use of string noise to sound human. And funky. thanks again.

Yes! 16s scratching and the 9th chord for starters. Seen a few other youtube so called funk lessons...really surprising...not even the basics like the blind leading the blind.... How about some skanking? Please checkout out Ross Bolton funk vid.

Great lesson. What thickness of pick should be using and how do I stop my pick from turning after a few seconds ? Cheers 👍

Pick thickness is very much a personal preference I'd say but as a general rule of thumb don't use picks that are too thick. I use a .88mm personally but thinner and would use a thinner one before a thicker one for funk stuff like this.

I use 46, 48, 50, 58 picks.
