Neurotypicals get very picky with how we must communicate. They get so offended when autistics be themselves. I wish they would care if we're offended for a change. It is very entitled of them but they do not realize. I've stopped socially performing any time I think I am suffering more than they gain. And when they get offended, I don't care anymore because this behavior FROM THEM made me depressed in the past. I will never go back to being that compliant, authority loving, social pleaser again. The mental pain I was feeling was normal to me until I recovered from depression and realized I didn't deserve that. That's what they indirectly teach autistics, to not be theirselves at the expense of theirselves. Every and anytime we don't act normal society judges away. I wish they knew that it can hurt so much trying to act the right way all the time and how long it takes to recover. They should have empathy for us too.
