Evil twin takes out chip so they can't track her. Me "wait, but why did they only start hunting hey down after she was captured and sold for ransom? the decision making of the characters in this show were so infuriating, like lets just tell the child to run away from the boat since the main character obviously knew the show needed a high suspense dumb last scene and the clone dad dude not doing a single thing about his daughter turning into a zombie because he obviously knew that she wasn't going to be patient zero because the show needs a plot twist the way the plot tools had no reason to exist other than being plot tools made it feel like they took it straight from the drafted copy

But in the show itself they explain that the tattoo on her arm is from surviving the outbreak at raccoon city. The show is just badly written though and pretty incoherent, so I wouldn't expect it to make too much sense lol

The only similarity is it's a zombie movie. But core concepts are different. RE is about umbrella Corp. While 28 days is about how people will take advantage of others in a z apoc. The 28 days book covers it more but I felt the movie did a decent job conveying that message.
