One of the best 12" 78s I have ever owned, but not one to play too often. It does get old.

NOTE: This a 1926 "ORTHOPHONIC" early elecrical recording played on the acoustic large horn machine that was designed to play them. This what persons in 1926 would have heard.

Just stumbled upon my late father's old shellac and vinyl collection. This is one of them. Thanks so much for uploading these to youtube - I would not have a way to play them for many years, otherwise. Very neat to listen to the ones I've found and think about my dad doing the same, many years ago. He was born in 1927, and I think some of the 10" and 12" I have are actually his parents', from the early 1900s. Thanks again.

Thank you William. I'm sure you enjoy uploading to the Tube but you are also providing a great service and much enjoyment to those who love what comes out of an Orthophonic. The quality of your videos are beyond reproach. A 12", 4.5 minute VE. Not enough of those it seems. We're so condition to a 3 minute recording. The 12" record gives us so much more. The "Clock Store", I'll enjoy listening to it time and again.

I used to repair clocks. I like those Whiteman's descriptive numbers, full of musicality and naivety with the symphonic set up. At 0:30 they even try to syncopate the chimes. At 3:20 there is a dramatic, discordant sound chimes that reminds me the clock sounding at midnight in Prokofiev's Cinderella! Ididn't know this record, a charming piece of music. Great sound as ever!

This is probably the best known song from the Wanamaker's (now Macy's) Christmas light show.

clocks do sound good- Edison version literally sounds like Alan parsons mixed it tho
