My grandfather was a top gunner on a B-17 in WW 2. He flew on 29 missions. When I was a kid I couldn't of been more proud to put my hand on my heart every morning in school for the Pledge of Allegiance thinking of the risks he took for that flag. I still tear up when I hear patriotic songs. The only thing I love more than America is my family. God bless all of you, America will survive.

This is my Great Grandpa's favorite song. He passed away when I was 5 from lung cancer...I MISS HIM SOOO MUCH!!!!!!We had our own little handshake and everything... and when I woke up in the morning I went to his room and we would eat eggs and bacon together. This song reminds me of him that's why I cry during it.

People die 2 times, and the second is one no one remembers them anymore. You’ll grow never forgetting, never understanding why it is so engraved in your memory and what you’ve become

So true, all my dad's and my mothers pictures were black and white. Only one picture of my dad as a young man, he was from the poor side of the tracks. God I love them.

"In Color" reminds me of my days in the Corps.....my memories are vivid in my mind, but when I tell my stories, people just seem to NOT understand me! I know most of these people have no military background and will never understand, but I love talking about these memories with family and friends.... They should've been there...... That's what "In Color " to me is....

This song was the last post on FB that my friend made before she committed suicide. She was found holding tight to a picture. Maybe she was trying to tell us something. May God bless her and her family. This song will always remind me of her. 😢

Funny how life imitates art. I remember hearing this in my childhood, and it seems a repeat of it's going on. Except in color is starting to take the meaning of "in person" even in some families case.

As an Asian I don't know why I do love listening to music like this while mostly white folks did.. beautiful music with beautiful stories and as a listener you can visualize what happened in the great depression in America during the late 1900's..
