I'll say it once and I'll say it again. Georgia did NOT kill a man to protect Ginny. Protection would have looked like leaving her husband, making it work, and being there for Ginny emotionally and help her process. What Georgia did was use the awful situation to justify killing him so that they could receive financial benefits from his death. Georgia lost sight of her kids best interest a long time ago when she discovered how much she could gain from manipulating and lying. She covers up everything with a smile so of course Ginny doesnt feel like she can be vulnerable with her mother at all. All these idiots saying "georigia is so cool, I'd love to have her as a mom" have no idea what's actually going on. Ginny has no stability in her life. It's been shown in her disapproval of Georigia lying to get the girls out of trouble, and her frustration with never getting in trouble. The fact that Georgia never disciplined Ginny translates in her mind to "my mom doesnt care about my safety or wellbeing all she cares about is having fancy things and keeping a good image" Georgia has not been a "Mother" to Ginny. It was very well said in the therapy episode when Georigia said "we're not like other mothers and daughters, were friends" and therapist said "but you're NOT friends, youre MOTHER and DAUGHTER" Georgia has been putting a lot of pressure on Ginny by relying on her emotionally as her friend instead of being her cover as her mom, while ALSO lying to her and keeping her in the dark. Of course Ginny would struggle and be confused. Georgia is FAR from a perfect mom and needs help to actually process everything shes been through.

I think everyone forgets that during puberty teenagers are mean to they’re parents sometimes, which is super normal. Especially when her mom keeps so much secrets from her. She feels really left out and never really had friends before M.A.N.G, and she really has been through a lot. So I still don’t understand why do people hate her. It’s really unnecessary.

ok not trying to start a war but rn it's 1 am for me so i need to argue about something. i understand her view and everyone else who defends Georgia... but think about it. Ginny has a lot of suppressed trauma that she never gets to express to her mom. Georgia has suppressed trauma as well but when she opened up to Ginny, she never asked for how she felt about it or anything of the sort. Because Ginny had all her emotions bottled up and wasn't able to speak her to her mom, it probably built some kind of barrier in their relationship. Ginny cannot sympathize for her mother because she never got any in the first place. I'm not on any side but i believe this was a valid point.

IMO Ginny was not ready to accept herself as a sometimes bad person, which would mean that Georgia is sometimes a good person. She wasn’t ready for that and it’s very hard when you have a parent who never gave you that stability and normalcy. Not an excuse, it’s just the reason.

I feel like it’s important to point out the fact that just because Georgia experienced abuse and has done a lot to keep her kids safe, that doesn’t mean that she is a terrific mother. In fact, she’s ruining their credit scores and exhibiting other types of behavior that suggests she does not care for the well-being of her children. Like when she threw the food away to make a point. All she did was make Ginny go hungry and abuse her emotionally. That’s not love. Everyone has a past, and hers does not excuse her abusive behavior.

Ginny is literally so overhated it's insane. I think a lot of people who hates her are forgetting the fact that she is just 15-16...her mother, who's keeping secrets from her(about crucial things) keep moving her from place to place before she can settle down and finds some friends, plus doesn't explain why she's doing what she's doing ( i mean of course she doesn't have to) but now try to erase the fact we saw georgia's backstory and put yourself in ginny's place. Maybe you wouldn't act exactly the same, wouldn't be so mean to your mother and didn't thing the the world revolves around you, but every person reacts/acts differently to different situation, (I bet most of u can't even relate to the same situation Ginny is in).and when you are a teenager, well you (maybe not everyone) can be a tad ungrateful and mean towards your parents and you don't act like you would right now as an adult when you know better, but that's okay. I don’t think Ginny is infuriating or annoying at all to be honest, I don’t think most people understand her. She’s a normal teenager who has gone through a lot more than what anyone her age should be expected to have dealt with. Georgia is also an amazing mother and has been through SO MUCH and she would do anything for her kids. There are moments in the show when Ginny does things that are a bit much but most of the time the things she does are perfectly reasonable for what she’s going through. Max isn’t infuriating either and is one of my favourite characters. I am actually very similar to Max.

I agree. Honestly Georgia confessing this did nothing for the story, so I'm not sure why they did not just wait. It really put the final nail in the coffin for Ginny's character.

i don’t really like Ginny because she is very self-centered, selfish, rude, and overall just not a good written character. i do feel she gets a ton of hate (a lot of stuff she gets hate on tho is taken out of context🫣) but people forget everything she went thru. people always praise Georgia and so do I, but people never talk about how she promised her kids she would “take is slow” with dating and then finds a new guy the first day in town. Georgia made questionable actions yet nobody really talks about

thank youuuu i've been seeing a lot of shorts of this show and i've been hearing about it from friends. main thing i hear is that the show is cringe. i watched a few episodes, it's so good, it's really only cringe with the teenagers and the scripted gen z lingo lol.. it's weird.. but not unwatchable. and another thing is that no one likes ginny but i don't really feel that way she hasn't done anything but i guess i haven't watched enough
