I know I’m a year late but I think I can make an appropriate response. I think they will install Solar Canopies in the parking lots.

@@wayne2432 hi Wayne, the renderings do show Solar canopies above the parking areas, however, Ford is still wasting a lot of valuable Solar real estate by not installing Solar on the roofs of their buildings. It's not like the covered parking areas will generate enough energy to run the whole factory, we all need to take advantage of every opportunity to install Solar panels and mitigate our reliance on Fossil Fuel generated energy. Ford has made a pledge to reduce Carbon and/or become Carbon neutral by some future date, just like all the other big corporations, here they are presented with a great opportunity to advance their Carbon emissions reduction and they fail to take advantage of the opportunity. This is an excellent example of how the marketing department and the internal "greening committee" have no real effect on the actions taken by the company overall. Essentially, Ford's Carbon neutral pledge is only "lip service". Ford, your actions speak louder than your words. At least Tesla has always had Solar panels on the roof of the Giga Factory in Nevada., they may not have gotten around to installing all of them yet, but they have always had them shown in the rendering. By-the-way, Tesla is doing a much better job at installing Solar panels at Giga Texas. Note: I believe once Tesla finishes their expansion at Giga Nevada, they will complete the installation of Solar panels there.
