The family of Captain Sir Tom Moore have been grilled by Sky News Australia host Piers Morgan over claims they used the captain's foundation after his death for financial gain.
The 100-year-old raised £38.9 million for the NHS during lockdown by making 100 laps around his garden.
The captain’s daughter, Hannah Ingram-Moore, admitted to keeping £800,000 made from three books he had written despite suggesting the money would go to charity.
Ms Ingram-Moore claims Captain Tom told her personally that he wanted the money to "sit in Club Nook”.
The books were "never anything to do with the charity", she added.
Ms Ingram-Moore was also questioned over her reported £85,000 salary as head of the foundation.

It makes no sense to have a museum in their own home, that’s creepy. Public access into their home? It’s a joke, obviously not built for that. If it’s a public place it would need commercial fire alarm and emergency lighting systems as well as many other systems and equipments. All the money came from his books and this should have been the charity’s money otherwise it would have tarnished his name even before the family destroyed it. They just hung some photos up before the cameras came around I bet. That family if they had any sense would move away from there and try to start again in another place or even country.

Captain Tom did something amazing for the world and his greedy family destroyed and tarnished his action in a couple of years. You can tell that they're telling themselves that they're doing the right thing by capitalising on the Captain Tom name. They are real sketchy about the £800,000, fully aware that people bought the shirts etc. because they thought the profit went to the foundation. And that pool - there's no way they want old ladies and gentlemen from the village in that pool, they built it for themselves. Great interview by Piers Morgan.

When I arrived at the interview, I had a mindset of being receptive and unbiased. However, as I listened attentively to the family's answers, especially those given by Ms Ingram-Moore in response to Piers Morgan's inquiries, I couldn't help but feel a sense of sorrow. But let me clarify, this sadness is not directed towards the family themselves, but rather towards the tarnishing of Captain Tom Moore's esteemed reputation. It seems that the family had been bestowed with a truly valuable and lucrative opportunity in the form of Captain Tom Moore's name, and they appeared to have fully capitalized on it to their advantage.

conflict of interest is why not and why she isn't there now also. the foundation wasn't set up by her just because it sin toms name doesn't mean she can decide who or where the money is spent. that's why she's built her own spar and memorabilia place so she can make money after his death. truly sick and not what he would of wanted either. she's brought shame to his good name and tainted all to do with him now. i think from the start it was all about how much money they could make off him and his story. for example I've worked for a charity for over 10 years in my spare time, none of the reps are paid even management so all funds raised go directly back to helping people in the uk. why could she not of done that with this. unless your just out for what u can gain from it like shes done with the books he said were to raise more money for charity she then kept after his death. there own words due to there actions the foundation is dead in the water as people wont donate any longer because of her involvement@@holdontoyourwig

I'm gonna stop her right there on the underbelly of hate thing - No one hated her father. The only hate I ever saw regarding Tom Moore's 100 laps of his garden, was when he started to get media attention, and she started popping up in the media everywhere, trying to make a quick buck off her fathers altruistic deed. Even in this interview, she has to point out how she supported him - no one gives a toss sweetheart, you were not the 100 year old man doing 100 laps of his garden, you were just the materialistic daughter rubbing her hands together at how she could make a quick buck out of it - people noticed then, and have been proven right now.
