Mug Rugs were my first adventure into In the Hoop designs also. Great way to learn, and so much fun!! These make great gifts as you can find just the perfect design for the person. Have fun!!

Is that a magnetic hoop? I have a Brother Dreamweaver 6200 sew/embroidery machine. I bought the Dime magnetic hoop

No, it's a Durke hoop that I use adhesive stabilizer with.

I'm very confused about the stabilizer ur using. Can u clarify what u have in your hoop & also I don't get when u use the "sticky stabilizer". I am making that very same pattern. Thnk u for your help!

I am using a Durkee hoop, which means I can use a sticky stabilizer. A sticky stabilizer is one that is sticky on one side (the side that is up) so I can just set my Durkee hoop on top of it and it sticks to the hoop. No complicated stretching in a hoop. Then, when I have to add the other pieces for the design, they just stick to the stabilizer. I use Stich Fabri-solvy by Sulky. If you are using a regular hoop, choose a lightweight mesh stabilizer, such as this: amzn.to/3PYMspd I also used a very light weight non-woven interfacing beneath the main area of the mug rug to give it more stability for the applique. I just happened to have that in my stash. Hope that helps! Thanks for watching.

How do you know which colour fits to which pattern part? I want to change the colours to purples

If I was at home and I had my pattern I could tell you better. But... usually (I think) the pattern will show you if you print it out. Otherwise... print out the pattern w/ the thread colors and then do a quick sample on a single piece of fabric and then make notes so you know what color needs to be adjusted for fabric and thread. Sorry I can't help more right now. Ping me again if you still need help, by then I should have the design file in front of me.

@@WendyJHaney Yea!! I made it. Only had issues at the end as machine kept doing the wrong outline so I used my sewing machine. So proud of myself. Thanks for your great video.
