The Story
In 2022, wildlife filmmaker Remy Tarasin was filming in Australia’s Snowy Mountains and came upon a herd of Brumbies. While most Brumbies are skittish and wary toward people in their territory, one particular Brumby viewed Remy with an inquisitive eye.
Instead of fleeing he chose to slowly approach Remy, and in the stillness of the alpine pastures the two studied each other. The Brumby was a young stallion without a herd of his own, so they shared in each others company and formed an unusual bond. From this moment on he would be known to Remy as The Grey.

In Search of The Grey will be produced as a short form (15 minute) adventure and expedition film following the quest of a filmmaker navigating the expanse of the rugged and wild Australian alps as he tries to relocate his Brumby friend. However, the film will delve deeper into their emotional connection to each other, and to the mountainous landscape and why at the core of their being, regardless of being a foreigner by definition, they feel intrinsically linked to their homeland.
