To be honest, I learnt Deen and Islam from Shaikh Hamza Yusuf. I am not easily impressed by anyone, but Shaikh Hamza Yusuf was not anyone. He is special. May Allah SWT bless and protect his Iman and intellect from intensifying corruption and evil in this world, we call Dunya.

I've relistened to this bayaan over 30times since 2004 and It refocuses and inspires each time. Even more relevant now in a time where social media has such an influence on our collective perception of what is right/wrong, acceptable/unacceptable...A truly passionate and inspired, sincere talk. @@user-gt5cz5gj4g thankfully, doing one amaal doesn't stop you from doing other amaal. So I'm sure that people who listen to bayaan's probably also read Quran, and perform salaah and do thikr and give sadaqah etc etc.

Subhanna 'llah! Every speech of his is a dose for consciousness; a remedy for psychology and social lethurgy; a guide to conscious and calibrated action. May the Good Lord protect him, continue to bless him with more knowledge, wisdom, health and stamina to continue the work of Dawah. I have now gone back to reading the Quran on a daily basis becaue of him, and for that alone I cannot be thankful enough.

I would recommend that brothers and sisters watch it first time without notes and second time with notes. This is very effective method and gets into your brain quickly.

from 0:29:30 to 0:32:00 how he talks about the ear as being mentioned first in the quran because it is the hardest to control. this amazed me, it is deep very deep.

Shaykh Hamza Yusuf learned the Maliki Madhab and Shaykh Bin Bayyah was one of his closest teachers. He already spoke about Sufism and how it is an important science in Islam. Hamza Yusuf is a great scholar, you will learn alot from him, Insha Allah :)

Can anyone add to this, the 4 things we should do immediately: do not lie (be truthful), do not backbite, the third I can't isolate and need help with please, and fourth is not to be jestful, as in, laugh and be light all the time, instead to feel the weight of the trust we have been bestowed and the weight of the guidance. What was the third thing we should not do?

Assalasmu alaykum sister. I pray to Allah that you are in the best of states. I hope not to be too late. This is the famous nashîd sung by the ansar when the Holy Prophet saw entered Medinah. It is called طلع البدر علينا that is 'Tala'a al-badru 'alayna'.

I respect our brother Sheikh Hamza Yusuf and I like to listen to his lectures, I can't understand when other brothers told people don't listen to him, I never see him saying that go and pray/ask the greaves for help, his lectures are very understanding, or maybe Sufis are in different groups??? InshaAllah, I hope that our brother Sheikh Hamza Yusuf, can/ will talk about his Manhaj (follower),and tell everyone if do those things like talking to the greaves or dead people. May Allah guide us all.
