Ohh I love his humour. What’s not to love. His knowledge surpasses beyond normal human comprehension. Really. He quotes poets philosophers great writes from the top of his head. He quotes from the Holy Quran as is to the point relating to the lecture. He never fails to quench the thirst of Islamic knowledge. Tears flow when he spoke about the Prophet’s milk mother. I cried like a baby. Now he jokes about names referring to himself and his son name. With a tender smile and a worthy joke. He mesmerised me all the time. Will I ever meet this wonderful human being. Humble. Yet he carries mountains of knowledge and shares it unselfishly. May Allah Protect Shekh Hamza wherever he goes. Bless him endlessly for we are in need of his lessons. Algamdolilah Praise is all due to Allah and I am fortunate to enjoy his lectures 🙏

6:40 I think that the story about Abraham sacrificing Samuel(İshmael) is about our most dear things and connections. We need to sacrifice them or to be precise ready abandon anything for the sake of truth, without considering how much we love them. @BGfromGB Prophet Muhammad allowed certain forms of music. The scholars differ as to what form. Apostasy was treason in the CONTEXT of the war being waged against Muslims 1400 years ago, but does not apply in peaceful times. Muslim women cover similar to nuns, Virgin Mary or Mother Teresa as do many traditional modest women. Where does it say women are not allowed to worship next to husband/family? Muslims actually accept all 10 commandments in some form. Tolerance is taught in the Quran 3:64.

@BGfromGB When I said "provide chapter & verse number" it was in response to you saying "treason in times of war? Really? The Quran does not say so." It was in reference to the issue of treason/apostasy, not music. Man or God? By His wisdom, God has not spelled out every ruling for all times. So humans (preferably scholars) must use their intelligence to interpret what God means by this or that. Again, this is the act of "jurisprudence". But ultimate judgement of right/wrong remains with God.

I like how he brought up that making a lot of money is not a requirement in religion, and that theres no real justification to choose money making over righteousness or over protecting your faith. I mean it’s just the complete opposite of the spirit of Islam. One of the most recurring motifs in the Koran is the warning of man’s love of wealth and his delusion in attachment to worldly possessions. As well as the sunnah of the prophet sawas and his family and righteous companions, all whom lived purposely ascetic and humble lifestyles even when they had the opportunity to live in extravagance. Muhammad sawas after conquering Arabia was questioned on why he chose to continue living in a small house, wearing simple clothes, and eating mostly simple rice and dates when he could live in splendor as the kings of Persia and Greece did. Firstly Muhammad sawas would literally give away all the wealth he accumulated at the end of each day to charity and to relatives and neighbors and so he had no money left for himself, secondly he declined because he said that temporary wealth in a temporary life is meaningless, a tool of delusion. Plus multiple Hadiths that talk about the condemnation of the rich and the love of the poor, etc. It’s just disappointing how many Muslims of the modern day are perfectly fine with giving up so much of their Islamic practices and devotion just because of a job opportunity, a college degree that they obsess over because they see it as a social status, or because they can migrate to a country for welfare.

@BGfromGB What it says about our religion is that it embraces a humane system of "jurisprudence" by scholars that allows for interpretation & re-interpretation of traditional beliefs & practices, which also exists in Judaism, Christianity & virtually every other religion. When you talk about the Quran provide chapter & verse number, as I did above, otherwise your claims are baseless. Your 1st comment made no mention of worship in the mosque which changes the argument. I will reply after you.

I was born out of wedlock and this kinda depresses me. I wonder, if we don’t have claim to our fathers lineage, does that mean we don’t need to keep his surname? I was given my fathers name, but as I married I took my husbands name. I didn’t realize this is a sin in Islam, so I didn’t think anything of it. When I found out it’s haraam, I was upset but didn’t think it practical to change it back now. Maybe I don’t need to worry after all since I can’t claim him as my father due to Islam’s law on lineage? Anyone have any input on this matter?

Iam Noone it is necessary to learn about something in order to appreciate whether it is something that fits into your world view or not. If what you discover runs counter to your present view then one has to consider its veracity and the evidence for it before adopting what you have learnt either within your existing world view paradigm or a newly created paradigm. Of course in this rational process of learning and discovery one is liable to come across ideas or teachings that cannot be supported by evidence other than the testimony of those already convinced. In such cases these ideas and teachings have to be treated with caution and skepticism. Religious faith of any tenor will fall into this category and must be treated as being a social construction to explain what cannot yet be understood by science. I appreciate that you will not agree with this point of view, but as I am gracious enough to accept that you believe in the truth of your ideas, and I agree that you should have a right to hold to that truth as you see it. You must at least extend the same curtesy to me out of our mutual humanity if nothing else. If however your belief extends to the point that you cannot allow me to see the world as I see it in my own terms then we will have reached a point of crisis and potential conflict, that I for one would want to avoid.

@BGfromGB Simply not true. The scholars have made a determination when each verse was revealed. Read Yusuf Ali's preface to each chapter & you see a "Makkan" or "Medinian" designation. Yes, the verses were not placed in chronological order like the Old Testament but this doesn't mean they lack chronology. Scholars can easily tell you which verse was revealed 1st, 2nd & so on, but for Muslims the order is not important... the message is. As far as context, the hadith literature provides all that.

For me, it is very important for psychological stability or inner comfort, it is a human nature i guess to feel comfortable when we have an affiliation or even to just know a truth about ourselves.. In Shareia, there are several things related that, for example, in the marriage rulings a person can't marry his sister / her brother, another example, the heritage distribution has certain calculations and they can not be applied if the lineage or the origin is unkown..

Ultimately when you look at a Lineage you ultimately have righteous people in your Lineage and it can be a point of motivation and a reminder of where you came from.I used to have a bad habit of having in a sense a kind of jealousy for syed people because they were from the Lineage of the Prophet (SAW) but then I remembered that my last name is Siddiqui, meaning there is a possibility that my Lineage goes back to the 1st Caliph. Now if I didn't know my Lineage,I would've in a sense been robbed of that knowledge and in a sense a point of motivation.

@BGfromGB The Muslims in Madina had a written contract with the tribe of israel in Madina. They broke the contract by helping the external (not living in Madina) enemies of the Muslims. For this they were punished. Under any law this is justified if you break a contract knowingly and you try to destroy the other party in the contract when you have agreed to work together with them.

Abu Bakr said to him, "Have you mentioned this to anyone else?" He said, "No." Abu Bakr said to him, "Then cover it up with the veil of Allah. Allah accepts tawba from his slaves." His self was still unsettled, so he went to Umar ibn al- Khattab. He told him the same as he had said to Abu Bakr, and Umar told him the same as Abu Bakr had said to him. His self was still not settled so he went to the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and said to him, "I have committed adultery," insistently. The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, turned away from him three times. Each time the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, turned away from him until it became too much. The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, questioned his family, "Does he have an illness which affects his mind, or is he mad?" They said, "Messenger of Allah, by Allah, he is well." The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, "Unmarried or married?" They said, "Married, Messenger of Allah." The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, gave the order and he was stoned. @BGfromGB Likewise with Islam... we have many "Muslims" but very few PRACTICE their religion, especially the so-called "leaders" and "presidents" of entire nations! So why are you not willing to apply the same logic to radical/deviant/deranged "Muslims" that you do with radical/deviant/deranged "Christians"??

Acting like Jesus is not illegal. Acting like muhammed is illegal is almost all countries except the islamitic countries Iran and KSA. I know you believe it's halal but raping a child is a crime. Waging war on people who don't believe yo're a prophet is a crime too. If 1,5 billion "muslims"(the proper word is muhammedan) would practice their sectarian beliefs like at the battle of the camel, the problem would have resolved itself because all muhammedans would be dead then. Unfortunately that's not the case.

worfoz Christians don’t act like Jesus. Muslims do. Ignorance and the love of ignorance is the worlds issue. You have clearly demonstrated that love. I see that you responded to a comment made 6 years ago. Lol. You’re welcome to try again.

@2:44 Many Muslims around the world have fallen into ritual that is not from Allah, and Allah gave them no authority to do that... Some customs are totally against the teachings of Islam, for instance, the female giving the dowry in a wedding. You will find in some Muslim countries, where the female is forced to give a dowry because of previous religious traditions that were strong in those cultures and yet that is against Islam. So that is part of tradition becoming a part of Jahalliyya or ignorance within the culture.

@BGfromGB You keep going back to apostasy, but I'm talking about treason. Islam is NOT a religion, it's a complete way of life & state of being. Islam means "submission". Anyone who is TRULY in a state of submission to God is in a state of Islam. There is one God regardless of what we call Him. He revealed the same message to all prophets over time. But humans changed the message leading to the many religions today. If Yeshua was a TRUE prophet, he represented "submission to God" (islam).

@BGfromGB Stay on point and stick to the topic. Stop replying with digressions and insults and maybe our debate will be somewhat productive. You made an argument about Iran and Saudi Arabia being "Islamic run" and I refuted it by denying your very point. But you don't address this... why? You have done this throughout our little debate with various other points. Why can't we debate a single point to its conclusion? Isn't that what a debate is all about? C'mon, let's be respectful & logical here.

@MrGrandDragon I can see weaknesses in sexes outside religious behaviours but what weaknesses are there when both sexes worship the Almighty. Did the Almighty command muslims to segregate when worshipping him? Where in the Quran does the Almighty forbid us from having girlfriends? Falling in love with a person before consumation of marriage is natural and is NOT fornication. Nowhere does God decree, either in the Q or scriptures that we can fall in love only after marriage. Does not make sens

@IslamOnDemand says "it embraces a humane system of "jurisprudence"by scholars that allows for interpretation& reinterpretation. Nowhere anywhere in the Q does it mean that any form of music is haraam. So how does this mumbo jumbo meaningless "jurisprudence" fit in the scenario in this case?
