I told my friend (who is also a big Hamilfan like me) that I was listening to a musical by Lin Manuel Miranda starring Lin Manuel Miranda as an orphan immigrant from the Caribbean whilst I was listening to In The Heights then we started sending each other the lyrics to Alexander Hamilton until she sent 'What's your name man' and i replied 'I am Usnavi and you've probably never heard my name'
@alexinitalics1886 жыл бұрын
She didn't reply for ages and I'm just sat there thinking 'I've scared her away with my new fandom, haven't I' I saw her at school and asked her why she hadn't replied and she just said she didn't know how to and I'm there like 'XD Yep, I've scared her off with my new fandom haven't I' she likes Hamilton and DEH but she hasn't managed to properly introduce me to DEH yet and I think I failed with ITH but she's still the biggest Hamilfan I know (other than me and about equal to another friend I've got who's actually going to see Hamilton but also knows a few ITH songs) Also, I love your profile picture XD

Ok so I'm way too many years late but I just listened to the soundtrack for the first time and damn... I think I prefer this to Hamilton. And I really love Hamilton. But you can really feel the heart in this and connect with the characters. There's a slight detachment (for me) with the fact that Hamilton is happening so long ago. But... I'm also a broke college student trying to figure out my life and I feeeeel this.

I love your opinion but please. Don't compared Lin's musical artworks. They both deserve better
@lorrainecc994 жыл бұрын
@@sentrogaspers9813 Can I ask why exactly? I only ask because I generally compare musicals written/composed by other people. I’ve got a favourite Sondheim musical for example but I appreciate all of his works and like to compare them against each other just to study his style and see the similarities and differences. I didn’t mean it in a negative way.

I just saw this on the West End in London- super intimate theater in the round, it was amazing to be so close to the music. Life changing show, and it changed theater forever as well.

Look at young Chris Jackson! A completely different vibe than Washington. He's just that good. And Lin of course has always been a genius.

Seriously one of the best Tony performances ever.

Lin-Manuel amusingly watching Chris put in so much effort into his performance at 1:24. He didn't put that much effort on the show but since he's at the Tonys my mans putting in 11 out of 10 work.

People who love this should see his new play coming out in July, "Hamilton"; was just as good but this time about the founding fathers of our country. LIn-manual is a genius imo.

My sons high school just did a full production of In the Heights. It was my first time hearing of this play. I’d have to say that it’s amazing and the kids did a really great job! My boys played the rolls of Sonny and Benny and their best friend was Usnavi ( US Nazy) lol! I’m completely hooked now and I know all of the songs😊
