im actually crying. this is my childhood, when things were good.

Iggle piggle wanted to leave the garden, he tried escaping on a boat he looked at garden while the boat leaves, he couldn't take all the torture anymore, he had to leave the garden before they caught him, they forced him to act in this baby show called "in the night garden" if he did not act all happy in the show he would be tortured, as the boat goes off in the sea is is so cold, he had a sore throat, he decided to sleep, he knew that he wasn't going to live, he sleeped to die a peaceful death, no one heard from iggle piggle ever again.

one of the versions of the story is that iggle piggle is in fact a sailor. he is blue with cold, and stranded in the ocean. the garden in the night, or the night garden is the afterlife. he is so cold he takes down his sail and uses it as a blanket in hope to get warm, and he lights the light in hope to be rescued by a passing ship. going to sleep is iggle piggle dying. it says drifting off to sleep in the poem, as he is drifting off into the release of death, and further into the sea. in the show daisy is his girlfriend, and he fantasises about her departing life. he thinks about the wottigers and the pontipines which was his childhood, and family, and makka pakka is his best friend. another version of the story is that iggle piggle is a young child lost at sea, and again, he takes down the sail in hope to get warm, and uses it like a blanket. in the show, iggle piggle drags round the blanket like a toddler would. the night garden in this version of the story is him making a colorful, child-like reality, before he dies. daisy is his mother in the show, and she shows her affection, makka pakka does the work, like a father figure, the tombleeboos is his brothers/sisters and the wottigers and pontipines is his toys. the night is black, the starts are bright, and the sea is dark and deep, but someone i know is safe is safe and snug, and drifting off to sleep, round and round, a little boat out, no bigger than your hand, out on the ocean, far from land, take the said down, light the little light, this is the way to the garden in the night. sleep tight.
