Sherman's March to the Sea, where Union soldiers were under orders to forage liberally and live off the land as they marched from Atlanta to Savannah.

Sherman is a hero in South Texas. Man streets named after him.

“YOU have chosen war as a remedy…” WTS. Some pics show some of the enormous damage done by Confederate General Hood before he evacuated Atlanta. Sherman didn’t burn Atlanta like he burned Jackson Mississippi (3times and totally). Then Meridian. South Carolina caught worse hell, being the cradle of the secession, and after many burnt out and picked clean Georgians practically begged his soldiers to do so. (“They started it!”)

My Great Great Grandfather was with Sherman. It was passed down the he had a grand time.
