Not sure which ones but either the Clinton or the kennedy's had a daughter which goes into puberty and became rebellious and since she no longer their cute adorable little girl, they lobotomized her and literally turned her into zombie whose brain is no smarter than that of a 5 years old. They kept her existence a secret and locked her up in a place somewhere. The girl is now at the age of a grandma, spending her life locked up in a care institution.

Become more radicalized, protest the government subsidizing environmental destruction, donate non perishable vegan food to homeless shelters/ food insecure assistance programs, encourage voting, write supposed representatives, organize information on gerrymandering, etc.

A lot of boarding school are meant to lock the kids away until college so yeah probability is if they stated in this state long enough it would be permanent. Or kept them enslaved long enough to fund her operation and then at 18 no one cares.

I love how the principal's table just has a sign that says "BOSS LADY" and the "Gothic castle" (school for difficult girls) totally gives off a haunted vibe like they totally did not just find a random abandoned castle and made it their school, like at least re-paint or decorate the building a bit, if I was a parent I would be crazy to send my kids there

In England and Europe (and New England) it is quite common to have boarding schools like that for children of rich people. The style is called "gothic revival" and was popular during the 19th century. Was a way to give a sense of history and prestige to the children of factory owners or bankers, many of whom were techicaly still peasants (ie not nobility).

This young lady is a incredible actress she plays a 15 year old child bride in the handmaid's tale and the sheer committment of that role has helped me appreciate this movie. I hate movies/shows like this because they always send mixed messages, like yeah just because you're young doesn't mean you need to be a complete asswhole to those you love and people around you, respecting others is necessary to make it in the world, being rebellious isn't a statement it's a phase, as in the real world you can't get anywhere mistreating others and acting like a jerk you only wind up being put in jail or worse. Now having your own self opinion on things that's fine but don't forget who you really are just because others influence you to become different, that's the freaking message that should be said here, not rebel against everything and be a total dick to everyone you know and don't let anyone control you no matter what because they're actually the villains in society, like that's the shit that no one ever says, like seriously some young angsty teen crap, but the moment they hit 30 all that talk disappears. 🙄

@@sheyennemerritt3215 but the story isn't about a girl who's being abused, that's a different subject entirely, this girl has friends and family who loved her and was trying to look after her, she chose to be an a*whole to all of them simply just because. My point is if you want change you have to be that change otherwise the world continues on the same way and treats people the same way, she provided nothing new, she just fell in line with a bad crowd and decided that was her life. And just like that people were hurt and had to go to the extremes just to make it through to her.

They were going for a Stepford wives rip off. See modest woman's fashion from the 60's is bad because the patriarchy or something, so to indicate something is wrong to the audience they present women dressing appropriately and modestly for their age. So when you see them not dressed like hookers or having curse words written on their shirts, you the audience know something is "wrong" and these arent "normal girls".

It’s really weird that her parents were concerned with her caring aggressively about the environment and the fact that she chose to take on what is arguably a healthier diet. Also being bratty is how most teenagers figure out their emotions. It’s like they’ve never seen puberty or something.

A plant-based diet isn’t really that much better. When you look at cows, they are herbivores, right? They have 4 different stomach sections to digest all the grass they eat. Except, cows spent like 90% of their time awake, eating on a pasture. We eat the cow because we get the same amount of nutrients faster and it’s easier to digest than eating a bunch of fruits and vegetables.

@@SxnsetRosy except it's an incredibly wasteful food system. We feed the cows crops for their entire lives so we can eat them, when we could eat those crops directly.

They couldn't do the haircut to the heroine, but they could do it to the girl with the metal plate ? At that point, I thought "damn, that's smart. Everyone is faking it and she will go back in the line in fear to also have the haircut. Then they will probably reveal everything was fake". Then it ended less awesome than that 🤣
