Interesting. I'm not a very creative person at all. Never have been but I'm planning to pursue a career in electrical engineering and I've been questioning whether I might be heading down the wrong path. I have a hands on type of background due to a tendency to take things apart to figure out how they work with a strong curiosity for it but electrical engineering is a more creative oriented field but I like having instructions and very clear guidelines on things. I'm also an introvert which further complicates things. 🤔

You can be analytical and be an artist. Likewise, you can like science and be creative. Creative doesn't strictly mean art, it's just a means of thinking. A lot of scientific discoveries were made by creative people. A lot of beautiful sculptures and art were made by analytical people. An example of a left-brainer making art would be architects and people who make art with geometric objects.

Juuso Lautamäki, bro, the brain does have 2 hemispheres joined by corpus callosum. Also, it wouldn’t be wrong to say both hemispheres are constantly in work, and an individual with left hand dominance will show more concentrated “activity” in their right hemisphere. And both sides of brain can perform each function. It’s just one side is better adapted to perform certain tasks.

@@trueblade3636 also incorrect. Different structures of the brain show specialised functions sure, but no part of the brain is 100% for one thing exclusively. It often involves a multi elemental pathway, such as how language does. Regarding the “right being mostly analytical”, that’s also false. If anything, you’d have to be “front-brained” as the frontal lobes are implicated in executive functioning, I.e. higher order thinking that allows you to be analytical, plan, set goals, etc. This is the problem with pop psychology seen in the media, it blatantly distorts and over-interprets the research. Be cautious about these sources. A beginner course could debunk half of the bs it comes out with.

What you may be referring to is Broca’s aphasia, which results from a lesion to the left side of the brain at a specific location. This causes difficulty in language production, but it’s not impossible, and their comprehension remains intact. Conversely, due to damage at a slightly different location, Wernicke’s aphasia causes difficulty in understanding speech, but production is fine (despite often making little sense). Therefore, this shows the multi elemental pathway. But again, there is growing research suggesting it is not just localised to these areas. The validity of your argument relies on the evidence put forth, but you haven’t built on it enough - you’ve simply stated the proposing sentence.

Being right-brained just means you're more likely to use your imaginations (nature), how imaginative or creative you can be depends entirely on YOU (nurture). Feed your brains with more art, music, literature, etc and see the difference.

no actually, i’m right handed and i put my right thumb on top of the other and i asked my sister who’s right handed as well to try it but her left thumb is on top and when i asked to do the opposite she said it’s weird and feels like something is missing and it’s just not feels right and the fact that my sister love to draw and want to be an artist explain everything, but personally i don’t think we can box the way other people brain works just by how they clasp their hand, right?

What about me who was once left handed but learned to write with right hand, but still chose to use the chopsticks with the left hand. I could still write with my left but it's out of practice so right has better handwriting. My left hand is stronger than my right, but my right hand has more control than my left. I also tend to mix up what thumb is on top since I don't have a preference. I'm just ambidextrous. I do tend to be a jack of all trades though...

You have to rearrange your whole hand though. Otherwise your thumb is resting on a finger of the same hand. If you shift them all, its not uncomfortable any more but just feels like one would have to get used to it.
