My husband had this done 10 days ago. He's still in a cast and will be in a boot soon. He'll learn to walk with his new ankle which we're told is life-changing. My husband has been in a great deal of pain for 30 years...due to a drunk driving accident--the drunk didn't suffer as he died on impact with his passenger and that of my husband's who was his best friend. Our family is looking forward to a great recovery and a promising future with out ankle pain. :)

How is your husband doing now, 3 years later? Can you tell me about the recovery process as well? I"m scheduled to have this surgery in January. Thanks.

@Rick Flanagan Hi, after full recovery, 1-2 years later, does your husband have full range like a normal ankle? Can he impact the ankle (Run, sprint etc.)? I had my leg snapped in two by a semi truck. I used to be a tennis player and traveled the world playing international tournaments. I just want to be able to play sports again. I have been through 10 surgeries already to reconstruct my leg, and getting feedback from people who have actually done this helps so much. Your reply would be extremely helpful. Thank you so much.

Just had this done dec3. Walking by march. Just need to get used to the pain and need to find a new job at a desk.

How does this replacement compare to Cadence, Star, and Infinity Prophecy? What is the best in ranked order and what are the pros and cons of each as far returning to a normal level of physical activity??

May have this done instead of getting a fused ankle due to complications of Plafond Fracture .

What is the life expectancy of these new devices? What happens when they fail?

I am getting ready to have the newest system installed in a couple weeks. The failure rate on this system is 1.9% in 10 after installation and 3.7% after 10 yrs up to 15 yrs. It is the best system out there right now been researching and waiting for the newest generation to hit the market and it has just arrived and my surgery is scheduled now to be done in a couple weeks . I can not wait been in in severe pain now 7 yrs waiting for the best of the best to hit the market. My Dr. is 100% believes this is the very best ever

Derrick Esparza, could you show me a link with the newest prosthetics for ankle, and the cost of it?! I'm not sure, but I will be operated with arthroscopy, and if that's isn't enough they will replace my ankle similar to this.. thx!

sim , ja tem total ankle replacement --- não sei se com essa protese do video . De tudo que ja li a respeito , independente da prótese em si , a experiencia da equipe é crucial para o sucesso da cirurgia . As melhores equipes estão nos EUA , UE , Japão , etc , países de primeiro mundo . Aprendi bastante em www.healthboards.com . Lá tem grupos de pessoas que tiveram fraturas de calcaneo . Boa sorte !
